Good to hear your thoughts Darcy and not an easy ranking to do. Yeah the new album is very strong and it was interesting to see it so high in the ranking. The top 3 can't be beat, absolute classics. Sacrifice is still one of my favourites. Good to see power and the glory up there, a bit of an underrated album. Destiny is not as bad as people make it out to be, a very good "hair/glam metal" album imo.

Man, re-ranking your Saxon albums must be quite difficult. But, you're new Saxon ranking is top-notch Darcy!
  • My old band ( KING LOUIS ) Opened for SAXON on the last part of the UK tour of 1921 or 92. Ended up at the Marquee cLUB London. nice guys. Si.

My first ever gig was Saxon at the Apollo in Glasgow in the early 80's! They blew my mind then and they still blow my mind now!! Great ranking Darcy!!

Pretty much the exact same as I'd rank them , the only difference is I have Unleash The Beast in my top 5, I think it's amazing, Circle Of Light is one of my favorite metal songs ever. And I'd have Destiny at 24, other than that I fully agree. I'm seeing them next Month with Uriah Heep.

Awesome Darcy. Iā€™m loving the new Saxon as well. Been playing it a lot. Just went and seen Saxon and Uriah Heep this past Sunday. Wow what a show. Both bands kicked ass. Biff and the boys were loud and proud šŸ¤˜. Biffs voice sounded amazing. We loved the show

Just saw Saxon two nights ago and they killed it (only the second time Iā€™ve seen them despite being a fan since the mid-ā€˜80s).
  • @ericmiller5603
Your top three, which I think are the first three albums, have the best album artwork as wellā€”so bold and well-composed.
  • @petetobey3933
Huge Saxon fan here, always great to hear your perspective!
  • @folden2008
awesome ranking of the mighty Saxon buddy awesome video as always
  • @flukieson
Great ranking as always Darcy, I only have a few Saxon albums to date but after watching your video I am definitely going to pick up a few more for sure \../
  • @ericmiller5603
Youā€™re right: ā€œCarpe Diemā€ is not as heavy as its three predecessors. Still solid.
  • @jasonbala7858
My next month shows April 26 Armored Saint/ Queensryche, May 3 Hammerfall, May 10 Saxon, and May 21 Judas Priest. Itā€™ll be only my second time seeing Saxon.
  • Nice re-ranking Darcy! I was surprised bit I actually really like Dogs of War. But I still have more to get. Using your ranking to see what to get next!
  • Hi Darcy!!! great ranking, woow 24 studio albums that's a lot of music to listen..... and so coo to see they doing reissues of the 90/2000 catalogue. I agree they have one of the most consistent discography and still putting killer stuff from the newer releases i really enoy "And they Play R&R" and awesome tribute to Lemmy & the boys. cheers and be well
  • @vikingbrace
Yes! I was really happy to see this pop up in my feed. I bow down to your expertise and will use this going forward. I was never into Saxon back in the day and have really only gotten into them over the past few years. Like you I also love the new album. My collection of them is fairly small at the moment, got two of your top three and then four others. Going to see them live next month. This video will help me decide which album I need next. Great video Darcy. Cheers! Gary
