I never exactly understood why many people disliked this movie, I found it hilarious as a kid and I still do as an adult, is just pure goofiness with some comedy gold moments.

This movie may be forgettable, but it gave me one of my favorite lines ever. "Once again, a UFO has landed in America - the only country UFOs ever seem to land in!"

Let's be honest, President Hathaway is easily the best character in the entire movie. Stephen Colbert seemed to be having a lot of fun voicing him 😂

Insectasaurus wasn't a play on Godzilla, it's a play on Mothra.

This is one of my favorite animated movies, all the great characters and Susan's development- not to mention the plethora of parodies, jokes, and odes to all the classics. Side-note, the scene with the President using music to try to communicate is an homage to the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Monsters Vs Aliens is to me one of Dreamworks' most underrated movies. sadly it didn't do well because it was aimed at an audience that wouldn't understand the film properly because it was an homage to an Era of Cinema most of them weren't familiar with, a simlar thing happened with Planet 51 which was released the same year.

One of my favorite movies. They never made a sequel, but there was a cartoon series. The cartoon was okay, but does have one of the best dodgeball episodes ever made. And as we all know, the dodgeball episode is the epitome of western animation.

I love all the fun references to old sci-fi and horror B-movies. Link and Dr. Cockroach are pretty hilarious, and the voice cast is excellent. Not one of the best DreamWorks movies, but still good.

This is a really underated movie. I love a good old sci fi adventure and all the sci fi elements are really good! The humour is great and the cast is absolutley stacked. The president and agent WR monger are particular stand outs. They're such hilarious and fun characters

President Stephen Colbert playing Axel F in front of the giant robot is my favorite part of this movie

The synthesizer part is a reference to Speilberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), where they use a synth to communicate with the aliens, though the score is done by John Williams. The following song is a parody to the close encounters scene, wherein the Axel F track is used instead of John William's score.

It's obscure, but one of my favorite bits in this movie is the secret service agents subtly bopping their heads to Axel F. 😂

If you dont understand the soundboard scene it is a reference to the movie Encounter of the Third kind. They communicate with the aliens with music to show peace.

16:36 well, it is one of multiple ways of communicating with an alian life form - music, light, vibration, e/m waves and so on. It is actually used by real scientists and some of the human made crafts that sent into deep space have that kind of communication devices.
