SPOILERS. There was no spoiler warning at the start in relation to the book Song of Achilles. I’d literally just bought the book, I’m five pages away from finishing my current read and this was the book I had decided on to read next. I liked the song by Gang of Youths, so while I was bored I clicked on this video to know what it was about. And within a couple of seconds my whole book was ruined for me. I’m sure it’s an amazing and informative video, but I do really think there should be some sort of warning that people who intend to read/ are in the middle of reading the book SHOULD NOT watch the video. Thank you. P.S. I understand it can be perceived as foolish of me to have clicked on this video but I didn’t realise the two were going to be related, as there are often many different variations of Greek mythological tales and in my tiredness and boredom I assumed they would be different.

i love how the duration of this video is exactly that of the actual song
  • the angel and devil on the shoulder view point, is surprisingly one i’ve never thought of. i’ve always seen it as Patroclus and Apollo arguing with Achilles, just to keep with the theme of achilles himself.

I love how the voice telling him to keep fighting is so full of emotions, so human, while the other one is grey and emotionless

As soon as I realized the video was the same length as the song I just played both the song and the video at the same time. Love this.

This has been one of my favorite songs for years. I remember looking for other peoples praise of this song in like 2018 after I first listened to Go Farther In Lightning, I found nothing and I was SHOCKED. I’m so glad people have found this masterpiece. Gang of Youths is definitely my all time favorite band. If you haven’t heard their other music, it’s amazing. David Le'aupepe is a brilliant song writer and story teller. Do Not Let Your Spirit Wane has a very similar story telling feel, plus Go Farther In Lightness is a perfect little transition between them. I could go on forever about the amazingness of Gang Of Youths lol.
  • Omg. I've been looking for this ever since I heard this song for the first time when a great friend of mine suggested to it to me. Can you analyze some more songs please. Great job not asking us to subscribe to your patreon or channel. Thank you thank you.

This was so interesting, i loved the part where you mentioned Sisyphus and how he must give meaning to the task to keep him from despair. Hope you'll do more in the future!
