  • Hunny the whole bit about the family and the drama….I agree. I moved out of state away from my family to complete my nursing program. It worked. I finished. For the first time in my life my family helped ME. I think I needed to experience and see that. I am always the person in my family to help them out but this time I needed the help and they helped. If I was home back in Illinois I might not have been able to finish. I needed to go be alone to focus on me for once. I got through it and now studying for nclex.

I think good money and job security can be good reasons. I just think you need to also care about people. For me job security does matter but I also know I love working with people and have overcome so many challenges in life which I think is an important quality for a nurse to have because like you said, nurses can face challenges!
  • My problem is I have bad anxiety and self talk , I don't believe in myself, people tend to have more faith in me than I do in myself. And I don't know how to change that. And because of that I tend to procrastinate . I also have a hard time socializing which is why I could not make friends. I tend to catastrophise things a lot. I don't know how I am going to make it through nursing school 🙃

Right on time. ❤Thank you. I have put off the teas to even try and get in because i have kids and an unsupportive partner. I also struggle with math BAD and have no confidence. I need to do this for my kids and OUR future. I'm 39 and need to do this, I can't wait yet another year to start studying for the teas. I am also so scared of seeing my kids less and not being able to do as much with them

I need to have a new living environment, and that is what's pushing me to get my degree. I am outgrowing some people and prefer to have my own living space. But yes, nurse B I need to get a job that will support me, and I am struggling with this .

Yes take your time on your prerequisites, I started prerequisites for nursing in 2016, switched to a different program graduated, now back at square one because I only cared about passing with C's an didnt really put the work in to achieve higher.

I’m in my 1st semester of the RN program. Also a CNA. I needed to hear this advice lol. Thank you
  • @tbo7488
You deserve everything you got because you speak earnestly about how hard you worked and the mindset it took to get there. I haven’t seen many nurses on here talk about that deeply, thanks for your videos
  • My why is strong. My dad died of colon cancer. My mom almost died from DKA a couple years ago. And I always thought about it but I didn’t have my license and I was not confident. Seeing my mom sick pushed me. I want to help people so badly. I’ve always been a person that wants to care for others. I can’t wait.

Our stories are similar. I got my CDL and was like awe nah let me get back into healthcare. So, I honestly just applied to the program not expecting to actually get in. It was just a spur of the moment type thing. And I’ve honestly been doing great throughout the program. Probably bc I cut everyone off and I don’t have kids.
  • These are all amazing tips & I'm happy to see that I'm following them in some way. My plan atm is to go to community college, take a CNA course & use those extra few dollars in my salary + the grant $ from college, to save up for moving. Once I move, I want to become an LPN. Eventually I want to level up & bridge to RN. My family & the dependency I have on them is my biggest hurdle, so I'm trying to get as much independence as possible, as quickly as possible. I'm gonna buy my own car with my college grant money, just to make sure I can drive myself to all of my classes, I'm gonna be buying my own food, etc. Nobody & nothing is getting in my way to becoming a nurse!!
  • @J.Anita24
Thanks! I start in January this really helps!
  • @pamelaanyam3709
I just love you nurse B.I am in my second term for my RN and girl I totally agree with all the things that you said.I literally search you this morning on YouTube to watch videos on nursing school
  • I think I needed this pep talk because I'm currently a home health aid (with a CNA license) and I'm getting a bit above minimal wage in my state ($15hr) and sometimes, the clients and their families may cancel because they got something to do or they're sick. When that happens, I'm not getting paid. So, I like home health, I enjoy my clients, I'm very dedicated to them, but the pay isn't paying enough. So right now, I'm working almost full time, gonna go back to school to work on my prerequisites, apply for financial aid, and work on paying off some bills and still stash away some money for a rainy day because if I get my bachelor's degree, I think it will open more doors for me. But at the same time, It's like I want to take a continuing education class (such as pct) because they make more money in hospitals and dialysis, and I almost positive they'll work with my schedule. I would still have a steady income coming in vs being in home health.
  • I’m starting in the fall and I’m sooooooo nervous and excited 😅 thank you for this
  • @msboo13
You are absolutely right and not only that recently as a matter of fact, lately on TikTok and social media guys been saying we don’t want no woman we don’t care about no education and education is most needed or you gonna be out here broke and hanging really bad so Who’s going to school? Congratulations to you please go and don’t listen to social media.
  • @ravenpn4275
Thank you for the advice and encouraging words ❤!
  • All praise to The Most Highest Creator! I always tell myself I will make all A’s and B’s. I just started ADN but I am determined and I have 6 kids at home with me. I will make it happen and if God has brought me this far God has a plan. I been doing home health care for 15 years and I’m 34 years old it is time I climb that ladder because I know this is a part of my calling. 🙏🏾🫶🏾🙌🏾❤️
