And all unaffordable to the average citizen.
  • I wasn't surprised, but was disappointed that almost none of the projects were addressing homelessness or affordable housing, just more playgrounds for the wealthy. It's a shame that as humans, we haven't yet decided that housing is a human right...

  • The best project is that of Jaque Fresco with the Venus Project....small communities rather than cities

Back in the late 90s to early 00s, the Maldives were supposed to be under water by 2018. They've measured NO sea level rise yet.

Smells of hunger games future. Poor people on the outside. Total dystopia
  • I hope all these places get made and that they get filled to capacity. That way I can finally have my dream home on a farm in the middle of nowhere. 😉

When I was young, I thought I would live in a city like this in the 21st century, but looking at it now, I think a city like this is very inefficient.
  • This is a very well made video, n like how he shows the planing view n he's thoughts of how realistic or not the idea is

That flat reflective city is a disaster for wildlife and birds. These kind of building should be prohibited around the world.
  • Wow, what an amazing video! It's truly inspiring to see the innovative and sustainable solutions that are being implemented in the cities of the future. I appreciated the clear explanations of each city and their unique features
  • The Line is growing on me with each episode. I hope someone follows it up with The Circle, that would be way cooler :) Thanks, Not Charlie Sheen, for another great episode!!
  • Good thing for The Line building that the earth’s surface is so stable. One long straight building sounds like the perfect design to last through the shifting sands of time.
  • Food, water and amenities in Mecca are not FREE OF CHARGE. They are included in your cost of renting a tent for thousands of dollars... Huge difference people.
  • @solarwinds-
I'm on city # 3 and so far these cities seem to be defined by the word "however". I'm dubious that they will ever be built or sustainable given the enormous challenges each one faces (except for Finland). Very well done video and very interesting. Love the CGs especially Akon City with it's twisting buildings. Very nice graphics.
  • Wow the line is actually underway for real? Damn. Humans are nuts. I wish we could feel good about this stuff being created but while war and other bs is going on it always seems like its coming from a dark place. Wish we could work together and create instead of constant competing.

I like THE LINE. It's the most sensible subway style. In fact, parallel tracks could even save energy going back and forth.

The floating cities are the right way to go... with enhanced ecosystems as proposed it puts us back in tandem with nature, all future building should enhance the natural world.
