8 years old and she finished like Usain Bolt. Amazing horse.
-
That's the most incredible come from behind finish, I've ever seen.
-
Horse races like this always tug at my emotions
-
Congratulations Bird for Life! That was awesome girl!❤❤
-
Bird for Life did not miss the break , it was the plan not to go out. It worked to a charm.
-
Geez that was a good run from Bird For Life! She was ridden beautifully by her jockey and bolted home.
-
She’s got heart and character! Great horse!
-
This is what makes horse racing enjoyable
-
FANTASTIC!!!!!! I got teared up there at the end. Magnificent comeback!
-
That jockey was working hard to get her going back there! Then she went through some gears and was flying at the end!
-
The horsepower gained from drafting cannot be underestimated. She will always be a bird for life!
-
Heard must have known what he had under him, that's incredible

I watched this race and saw how the jockeys whip their horse to run faster. Then I remember the great chestnut horse, Secretariat. Secretariat was never whipped by the jockey, Dave Turcott and won the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and The Belmont Stakes in 1973. Secretariat still holds the record times in all 3 races to this day.

Wow - such joy to see her fly and what a great jockey! Congratulations!
-
Reminds me of the 1983 Melbourne Cup. Big win from Kiwi, and he came from nowhere. Amazing rides.
-
It’s done this same thing several times before. Always wins the same way. Tails off and then comes flying through.
-
Every time I watch a horse race my eyes fill with tears and my throat is so tight I can’t speak, they just love to run! It’s beautiful.
-
Backed this in running @80/1 when she missed the break 😁❤️

I don’t know if she was an underdog at the gate but I can tell you after the start she was an underdog by far and I always love an underdog that was awesome!
