  • 1. Pick a place and time and show up. 2. Use the Bible and turn the Bible into prayer. 3. Pray in concentric circles. Move from you, family, church, nations. Earth.

Devil makes us think it is legalistic to pray at a regular time! wow. I needed that

we don't pray and we wonder... why is my faith weak, why is my passion for Christ small💔
  • I'm starting a prayer meeting on campus next week. I heard this sermon a year ago and I've been looking for it ever since. And desiring God posts this clip the week before the meetings start... There are no coincidences

you know...this is one of the best sermons ever. I better get my act together.
  • @6:50 GOT ME. The devil has been lying to me so hard these past several days bringing vivid flashbacks of my past that It makes me think that my past is too bad and that I'm lying to myself that I'm saved. In Jesus name, I AM FREE!

11:59 and the "it's your fault" part right that the end really struck me. I have wandered away and been brought back to repentance so many times I can't even count them. And it seems that every time I wander further I just wait for God to do something, to bring me back to my knees. He is faithful and always does, but I know I live an undisciplined Christian life. Every time God brings me back to repentance, I run with strength for a while, and then I quickly grow weary and give up time and time again. God has given me new life, and my laziness is not His fault. My lack of planning is not His fault. My refusal to listen to the conviction of the Spirit and repent is not His fault. I should be bearing fruit and have a responsibility to do so. Not that it will save me, but as a natural part of my new life in Christ. I am thankful for God's grace and mercy through all of my trespasses and wicked willful sinning against him. I am thankful for Christ's sacrifice on my behalf for my sins. God bless all of you as we continue to grow in Christ and bear fruit in His name.

Imagine how you would feel if someone you love ignored you, didn't talk to you. Imagine your spouse or your child closed lipped as you pass each other in the hall at home. Imagine a good friend pretending not to see you as you pass each other on the street.

It’s vitally important to keep consistent in prayer, faithful in attending Church, persistence in serving, willing to give. It may seem like “legalism” but these are the things that keeps us strong, healthy and protected. It also reflects a Godly order of things. Remember the enemy operates in chaos. Don’t stop.

A year ago I wouldn't understand this beautiful message. I'm thankful now I do.

"Because God is in every circle" - AMEN!! Love that!! Omnipresence GOD is.
  • @tinokats
This is amazing. Prayer is a duty and it should be done out of a place of discipline! Another thing a brother of mine has once shared with me is that prayer is actually for yourself and not God. Prayer is to build yourself up. The more we realise that the more we see the importance of prayer. As Pastor John Piper titled this message, if you don't pray, you won't live! I thank God for this message. Amen!

Developing a prayer life has been the biggest growth on my walk with Christ...it has also opened the door to more spiritual warfare...
  • I didn't realise how far away I was until now 😢 I have work to do 😁🙏

"Sleep every night? For goodness sake, mix it up!" Haha I laughed at that one. It's true, in today's culture that encourages the loosening of boundaries and rules in order to reinforce a feeling of personal freedom, it becomes easy to conflate healthy routines that facilitate obedience to Christ with legalism. So often, it is that any form of spiritual structure must mean we are experiencing bondage from being our true selves, when it can actually help us avoid that which will surely destroy us whenever we are feeling particularly rebellious or curious about the world surrounding us. Freedom with no aim only leads us to aim at everything and be sure about nothing. Yet, freely choosing biblically-sound ways to narrow our focus on Him and avoid the noise helps us see Christ more clearly, and, in return, how he reveals his vision of the real us. This issue is truly a pivotal temptation of our times.
  • In the morning.first I prayed then I read the word, then I stopped and drifted away.It happens so quickly, getting back on track isn't so quick.Without the Spirit it's hopeless.
