I have been riding an Lectric xp for 2 yrs, I’m 71, and this technology has improved my lifestyle drastically. I look forward to further reviews. Special note bicycles reduce road impact stress and associated physical injuries.
  • @louspinelli1745
So glad to see the bikes included on your review and teardown program. Keep up the great work!❤
  • @MikeFede
Got the e-bikes on here too🤘🏾. That’s what I’m all about too. I road this bike down pacific coast 220 miles over 3 days. Solid bike!

I own this make and model of e-fat tire bike. A quick overview: In it's use case, target market and price, it hits a big sweet spot. As a consumer, you may readily upgrade several component choices that Himiway made to reach this price point. These soon become evident if you do use it regularly, such as the addition of a quality suspension seatpost, hydraulic disc brakes (especially if you weigh 170-200+lbs and normally negotiate hills) , a thumb throttle (vs the standard twist grip) and tire liners. As it is, the Cruiser is among the best responses to the gigantic success of Rad Power bikes from Seattle who introduced the Rover product in 2017 which catapulted that small startup from zero to North America's largest e-bike company in just three years. Of the legions of copycats that followed suit, Himiway stands out because their non-branded geared hub motor actually puts out 750 true watts as advertised wherein Rad Power Bikes has claimed their Bafang hub motor is a rated 750 watts but in truth is a 500 watt unit with a PEAK power rating of 750 watts. In my mind, that marketing slight of hand by Rad makes Himiway a better choice in the same segment when both products otherwise share nearly identical off the shelf components. You can buy a fat bike with full suspension frame, torque sensor ( the Cruiser only has a cadence sensor ), larger motor, mid drive, more aggressive controller, hydraulic brakes and air shocks from Himiway or others for more money, but the Cruiser represents big bang for the buck. Those phat tires just glomp up and over every rock, root, snow, sand, curb and everything in-between. They are just plain FUN! Remember to reduce large amounts of air pressure to effectively negotiate sand and snow. Snow days will blow your mind. Lots of videos exist on YouTube showing how to easily reprogram the head unit to: 1) increase top speed, 2) increase the number of pedal assist levels up to 9, 3) decrease the severity or harshness of the delay or hit from acceleration...etc.. Big thanks to y'all at Munro for branching out to show us diverse transportation options. Hope to see e-scooters and other "last mile" products dissected and discussed in future episodes as well. Big thumbs up!

Ebikes are way more fun than 99% of people realize. Love this!
  • @MissGoElectric
Nice job 💪 Many ebikes have the ability to unlock speeds from Class 2 (PAS & throttle Up to 20mph) up to Class 3 (PAS & throttle up to 28mph). I just got one in I'm reviewing that actually unlocks to 40mph 👀 The delay in power from pedaling is because it has a cadence sensor and depending on how many magnets and how it's calibrated it might be more delayed. You might like a torque sensor better if you didn't care for that delay. Can't wait to see the tear down! 🤓⚡
  • @rickmorenojr
I believe the law for Class 2 limits the electric assist to 20mph.
  • @stuz32
Efficiency is king, the bicycle will always remain a fantastic way to get around. They sure have come a long way in the past few years

Big fan of Munro Live and I would love to see more 2 wheeler product review / teardowns.
  • @ryuuguu01
I think many jurisdictions have a speed limit for power assist for something to be still considered a bicycle. If it goes beyond that speed with power it is classed as a moped or other power vehicle. I am looking forward to seeing a teardown both for my own curiosity and hoping it will help the electric bike industry advance.
  • @erinues
Please keep this kind of content coming. Looking forward to the teardown of this.
  • @xtype2006
Woah! I've been watching Sandy and Munro Live forever, but never expected to see a Himiway on here. I have a Himiway Cobra 750W and I love it. Such a great bang for the buck.
  • @jeffmeyers2106
Please keep reviewing bikes. You are the best at the engineering side of everything.

I am on E-Bike #4, over ten years now. Live in Sunny California, commuted for over five years, love it. Jail broke HMI on some of my bikes so 20-28 miles per hour was not an issue, with a helmet, on the road. My bikes have all shipped from China; the US models are too expensive and more limited. Some US importers have good service and specifications, depending on what you want in a bike. This is the future; I think more bike paths are a wonderful idea, looking at the EU models, the US style needs 28 miles per hour however. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work at Munro live !

I built my own e-bike by converting a standard Schwinn 26" Mountain bike I already had. The 20AH battery + rear hub BLDC motor + kit cost me only $350 total and it it does 38 mph max and gets ~40 miles of range on a charge. It was not difficult to DIY and you save a ton of money by doing so. Took me ~5 hours to do in total, but can be done in less time if you go the simple route. I suppose if you prefer the convenience of a prebuilt e-bike, this might be okay, but $1,600+ is an incredibly high markup/margin!
  • @bdcainathotmail
as of today my ebike kit has used 209 kwh's and moved me 14950km's efficiency matters ! I love the nonproprietary cutting edge stuff coming out of/made in Vancouver Canada
  • Looks like a Bafang-drive. They're great. My China e-bike runs for 11 years already, no faults whatsoever.

On my e-bikes from Trek you can go over the assisted speed, if you are pedaling. Just that over 20 MPH you are providing all the power when you are pedaling with no assist. Under 20 MPH it is a combination of your pedal power plus assist from the bike. So if you are fit and have the ability you can go faster than the assisted speed limit.
