    There are good reasons why this film won an Oscar and why it still gets warm reviews from modern-day critics. Noteworthy are its plot twists, a great ending and what still today is one of the most gripping bomb shelter scenes ever made. Worth watching.

    Mrs. Miniver is one of those enchanting but patriotic films of the 40s about a middle class British family. This movie is beautiful family war time drama set on the backdrop of 1940 Blitz in London England during the early years of WWII. Handsome boyish Richard Ney, charming Theresa Wright, The old arrogant but sweet lady Beldon played by Dame May Whitty 😂😂 (my favorite) n the station masters Rose (Henry Travers) & those 2 nosy kids are centre of attraction in the flick. Talented n pretty Greer Garson gives an Oscar winning best performance while Walter Pidegon is excellent. During the Battle of Britain Garson n Wright looking at that burning plane crashing down is Me 110 the clumsy twin engined Luftwaffe fighter bomber Spitfires n Hurricanes found easy to shoot. Waiting for the remake of classic air combat movie Battle of Britain 1969. Respects from India to the valiant RAF.

    The movie is very good.  This little pittance of a clip doesn't begin to do it justice.

    The trailer mentions the word :decent" twice , at least. This is MGM's way of loudly banging the drum at Jack Warner's insistence. Jack was a celluloid rabble-rouser. (A big defender of Great Britain.)
