MalO is actually kind of wholesome in its own creepy way. Based on the file, the skull-face entity (1471-A) isn't hostile and it doesn't seem to cause any inherently/deliberately harmful effects, it just follows you around and tries to keep you company. It's just a friend. An ominous, frightening, but essentially harmless friend.
  • @Gengawa
MalO is also considerably non hostile and just likes to flash in and out of peoples life so they can get more used to it, unfortunately those who are hyper sensitive to its presence sometimes take the extreme like in this story or in another story for MalO sleeping permanently but the users who do end up enduring find out that MalO really does make sure you are never alone ever again :)
  • At 11:14 there is a bouquet of flowers at the grave that goes unmentioned, and I find this particularly interesting. There was nothing to allude to any event that day that would drive someone to leave an entire bouquet there- and I know it's that day because the flowers are still fresh, on top of that, in a later scene likely very soon after, the man visits the grave and there's no flowers to be seen, all that with the very specific details of the wrapping being black leads me to one conclusion: Mal0 left the flowers.
  • I'm also given the impression that Mal0 is more tragic than threatening. It wants to socialize, but it doesn't know how to except to only interact with those who invite it to do so. Beyond that, it has yet to grasp the concept of a misunderstanding -- that people might accept the invitation not knowing exactly what it means, nor does it understand that, just because someone answered the text, that doesn't mean they consent to receive another one. It probably thinks the panicked reactions to its first appearances are just normal social interaction. And a lot of people do just get used to seeing it, so it probably thinks it's doing a great job making new friends too.

Ah, one of, if not the most lewded, SCP in existence has arrived.
  • @Lunar994
There's a neat tale involving this scip called "Capone" where a victim actually grew to accept the creature, even giving it the aforementioned name and teaching it how to wave. I believe there's also another tale where a different victim taught their instance how to use sign language.

no matter how "scary" this video is trying to make it out to be it just keeps falling flat and makes me think of how MalO could be a nice friend
  • Id rather have MalO than Twitter or Facebook, Malo's honest about stalking and unlike the big two, quieter.

The Perks of MalO as a companion: >Incredibly Low Maintenance >Only needs as much attention as you feel like giving it >Loves you unconditionally >You can project whatever gender you want onto it >Will never abuse you, verbally or physically >You have physical evidence of your relationship when people ask about it >Will always be by your side >Skilled Photographer chronicling your every day life >Cute and fluffy 10/10 the perfect social substitute.
  • Every time I see stuff about Malo, I can't help but make this a tragedy. Not for the people that encounter this SCP, but the SCP itself. It's like... Loneliness given form, a horror to the people that live with it and always just wanting to not be alone. It just wants them to feel better, to be with them so they don't have to be on their own... Poor MalO, caring and wanting to be cared for but a being of such nature as to terrify any that it tries to help.
  • I would willingly download her and see if I can find a more steady way of communicating. She seems like she'd be a good caring friend.
  • @beastwarsFTW
Malo is ironically less creepy then Facebook. They both intrude on your privacy but Malo never does anything shady, all they do is send pictures of places you go.
  • @privatename5788
The funny thing is how benign MalO actually is. It just pops in to give you a cheery reminder that you don't need to be alone. People tend to freak out because of how MalO looks, but it never does anything to hurt them. The idiots cause their own problems. If MalO just appeared as a friendly dog, then it would barely be an SCP at all. It's the perfect example of why people shouldn't take things at face value.

I remember seeing the original photo of Malo on the official SCP site and I got shivers down my spine. Decided to look them up on google and I’m met with some very questionable images. Thanks internet
  • @awesomeness0707
Mal0 is like that quiet friend who’s only friend is you. Mal0 is also one of the scps that I’d want to be real.
  • @JustSK37
Mal0 is actually one of my favorites. Mostly because it's one of the SCP's that doesn't intend any harm. It basically just wants to be your friend, it just sucks that you can't understand what it says.
  • @puceterror
You had no business drawing it that thick, but I appreciate it. 👍
