About Spectre Sound Studios:
I'm Glenn Fricker, engineer here at Spectre Sound Studios. I love making records, and after doing it for sixteen years, I want to pass on what I've learned. On my channel you can find tutorials on how to record guitar, bass, real drums and vocals. There's reviews and demos of tube amps, amp sims, drums, mics, preamps, outboard gear, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, and plugin effects.
We've covered Moon on the Water, played Bias FX, given you the absolute best in Stupid Musician Texts, ranted & raved about bass guitar, and this channel is where The Eagle has Landed.
Everything you've wanted to learn about recording Hard Rock & Heavy Metal can be found right here on this channel!

I also respond to your comments & questions: The best make it into the SMG Viewer's Comments series of videos. Loads of fun, lots of laughs.

Thanks for checking out my channel & please subscribe!

Thank you to everyone involved who made this episode possible, this was a treat to watch.
  • I've been recording drum sessions professionally for about 7 years in my home studio and I'm still getting a lot of work. So I don't think recording acoustic drums is dying yet. Its still alive and well. :) Cheers

I teach guitar to a young lady here in Madrid. Nikki & Jen you are both AWESOME inspiration for her!! She started at 7 on a pink mini RG.  She´s just 11 now - with all the usual distractions - so guitar on the back-burner a bit.. But we´re getting there =) =)

I always learn something from Glenn's vids, it's why I keep coming back.

Laying foundation for Nita, wouldn't be easy task, she is very fluent, also the two shows I attended, impressed within her extraordinary endurance throughout 120-minutes. Good for her to have her personal space to practice, so it does have a purpose.
  • Here's a recording question for Nita: Using the method you describe in the video, in what order do you track your instruments? Do you lay down permanent guitar and bass using the programmed drums as a guide, then record drums? Or do you create a full demo version and use the demo as a guide track while you record in a more traditional order? Or is it something else entirely? However you do it, it sounds great!
