Everything I LIKE and DISLIKE about the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport

Published 2023-11-19
In this video I discuss my likes and dislikes about the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. This Crosstrek Sport is finished in Sapphire Blue Pearl with the gray/yellow interior. The Crosstrek is all new for 2024 but carries over many of the familiar aspects about the vehicle. There are many aspects to like about the vehicle including how it drives, the interior space, and AWD system but one key negative is the technology. Hopefully Subaru can address this in their future models as the hardware and software is inferior to the competition. Even with this in mind, it is a vehicle to consider if you value other aspects more than the infotainment radio. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!

This is not directed entirely to the Subaru infotainment system, but when the driver must move through screens by tapping icons to operate the system, the driver is essentially using a cell phone or laptop. This is clearly dangerous especially when the system is lagging. Seconds of eye focus upon the screen is time away from driving safely. The Mazda inferface system seems safer. Good review!

I am very glad that I purchased a 2024 Crosstrek BEFORE watching this video. It is an amazing commuter!

Fair knocks on the infotainment. I am one of the rare persons that prefer the smaller system from the previous generation. HVAC controls should always be physical and separate. All said, the CrossTrek remains a compelling package.
  • I bought my 2024 Crosstrek Sport a couple of weeks ago with package #22. Magnetite Grey OTD $33,758 It only had 3 miles on it. I love it. From the first moment that I hit the gas, I felt as though I was levitating. I love to drive my car. It's nice.
  • You are spot-on, the EyeSight backside is taking up space, better used as glass. Also, every time the windshield needs replacing, you must get is recalibrated. New cars - new problems. Recall a time cars improved each decade?

Very intelligent review. Too bad about the laggy audio system. I could get used to the iSight obstruction, but I suspect the audio system would aggravate me more as time passed. Seems like a great car otherwise.
  • I have a Lithium Red Wilderness. I absolutely love it! Car is a real heard turner.

This sport trim is called 'Onyx' in Canada for some strange reason.... Have one coming in the next 6-8 weeks

I love my 2024 Crosstrek Sport! I do experience lag with the display. Wish more knobs so you can use feel instead of having to search for control. A/C needs vents that reach better & add backseat vents! I live in Texas where leather seats & steering wheels become branding irons. I dont get great gas mileage - only about 23mpg

Ive had the opposite experience with the auto- Highbeam. Ive had instances where they shouldve come on but didnt

Just traded my 2021 Toyota Venza hybrid on January 19th 2024 for a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek limited. I must note, the Toyotas safety sense 2 even being 3 years older than Subarus eyesight system, is more refined and operates smoother & flawlessly. Of course a hybrid system provides better fuel economy. Subaru symmetrical AWD is superior in every way. Seat comfort I found excellent in the Crosstrek. After a 350 mile drive home no hip pain at all. Truly Amazing! Subaru heated seats are great because it includes a low back warmer in the Crosstrek. The very first thing I will do now that I am back home is get rid of these horrible Falken Ziex tires. These are terrible tires! The handling on these tires is squirmy. What is nice about the Crosstrek is it fits like a drivers glove. You sit in it not on it. The Toyota Venza was very comfortable and easy to travel in but not an inspiring drive. The Crosstrek however is more of a drivers car, it is fun to drive!
  • I would just turn off the lane centering, and all the other nannies. Wish the EyeSight system could be deleted, along with cameras stuck on the glass.

As bad as you think Subaru’s infotainment is, it crushes Toyota’s. My Avalons is terribly slow and glitchy. Bluetooth microphone stopped working years ago.

I have to laugh . What people really have to complain about. I came from driving cars that an AM radio was opptional . You dont seem to appritate how nice even to have all this stuff, I think for the most part everything that needs to be addressed should be addressed before you start the car you no things like your temp settings your radio chanal etc.k instead of when your driving. As for slow? Is it all that terable that it takes a few seconds out of your life for a screen to come up? I no I no I am an old fart but really. To me there are no complaints over trivial stuff like this.

Find this vehicle extremely expensive with the add on’s

I wish they would make it ILLeGAL for any manufacturer to put ANY kind of " ASSIST" function on any part of any vehiucle. ENOUGH of that computer crap already- let people drive their OWN damn cars without that crap. Maybe they'd leave these STUPID screens alone and focus on driving like they NEED to. Many of them can't drive for sh... anyway!!
