I'm from Scotland, and I visited Gettysburg in 2017 with my old American uncle Jack. We travelled from Valley Forge where he lived to Gettysburg. It was a long drive but was absolutely worth it. When you think of all the young Americans who lost their lives there, it sent a shiver up my spine. He took a photo of me on top of the Pennsylvania Monument. I love history, whether it's Scottish, English or American civil war, or 1st World War, 2nd World War. I just find it all very interesting.

I have lived about 10 minutes right outside Gettysburg for close to 40 years and even still am learning new stuff about the town etc thanks to these videos.

I went there myself in April 1990. On little Round top ,off the beaten trail, I went to the far flank where the 20th Maine fought the charging 15th and the 47th Alabama. I read excerpts of the battle of Little Round Top from the novel, The Killer Angels By Michael Shaara. A surreal experience indeed. One I will NEVER forget. There's a profound energy presence there. Almost palpable.

One of my Great Great Great Grandfathers was on the skirmish line with the 63rd Pennsylvania on July 2nd from sunup to about 5pm. His Regiment was spared the horrific losses the rest of the brigade suffered when they were attacked by Barksdale's Brigade.

  • My great grandpa was with the 5th Maine (Steven's Battery), and it's so great to hear the battery being mentioned so much! Wishing I could be there for the 160th, but definitely there in spirit. Thank you for sharing this history with us!

This walking tour was really well done. My GGGrandfather fought under Gen Heth. I have visited the battlefield a dozen or more times. This walk along High Street added another dimension to my interest in the battle. Thank you for your love of history.

  • I really appreciate all these guys. I visited first battle of Bull Run site in 1972 and have been hooked on Civil War history ever since. Went to the 125th reenactment of that battle in 1986. So powerful when you see that
