The extensive quick-cut killing montage from Centurion is pure comedy gold
-
I'm glad Outlaw king actually uses archers as we think they were used against armored knights. Shot horizontally and at close range for maximum penetration of armor.
-
i always wonder horses had like - i didn't sign up for sh*t moment
-
THATS IT. Time to play Mount & Blade
-
Outlaw king is teaching us something in the battle scene: never underestimate ur enemy...and every rank of soldier has a weaknesses. None are unstoppable
-
The Alexander scene with elephants was legit terrifying.
-
Bruh medieval combat looks absolutely terrifying
-
I like how so many movies assume that Roman legionaries were awful individual fighters. The reality is that they were probably some of the best trained individual fighters in the world. They spent hours practicing swordsmanship, hurling javelins, etc. when most of their enemies were part-time soldiers that were most often farmers or tradesmen. As Josephus wrote, the Romans won because their 'exercises were bloodless battles and their battles bloody exercises'.

I love seeing such a revered general/ruler like Alexander the Great even struggle a bit. You rarely see that in movies, like with Napoleon or Genghis Khan.
-
Outlaw king was fantastic. It really got the accuracy better than almost any Hollywood movie
-
I love how they think a barbarian women could kill well equipped well trained Roman legionaries
-
"Hey guys, do you think riding into a force that's several times our own with two swords is a good idea?" "Man, who cares. It's gonna look sick!"
-
The mongol one is just badass
-
These movies are great for drawing out raw emotion, but I’ll never be able to reconcile the idea of how armor is practically useless in these films.
-
I love how Hollywood style movies make 3 layers of armor useles against swords.
-
The King (2019) is underrated when it comes to battle scenes. Felt so brutal. They were battling the elements, their armor and their opponents.
-
Out of the top 10 most epic battles three of them are of Scots being badass, gotta love it.
-
19:03 they let that guy on the right walk thru haha

The scene from "The Messenger" was absurd. Historians have pointed out that Joan of Arc said bluntly that she didn't fight, and she certainly didn't punch armored soldiers with her bare fist, which is ridiculous. She was also described by eyewitnesses as "beautiful" rather than the film's campy portrayal of her as a "butch". There were lots of other errors in the movie.

This scene from the movie Alexander is undoubtedly one of the best, the simple fact of putting real elephants in addition to the scene where they all ride together towards the elephants is undoubtedly epic, one gets goosebumps.
