I assumed that the smoke was the wisteria guarding the mansion which would melt any demon that tried to enter the compound. Muzan just tanks it because he's built different.

I believe the aura around muzan is the wisteria but he's just doesn't care or it barely affects him

first of all he's slow because he has no fear of anybody... he's the strongest ... he is the demon king... his appearance is strong that's why they made his enterance this much dramatic

Well this is early. PS, in extra manga pages, the author confirmed that Sayo was referring to the demon when she cried about the “killer man”. Now, she’s 14 (around Nezuko and Muichiro’s age) and desperately regrets her word choice, and wants to apologize to Gyomei (her character never appears again). 😞
