Thargoid encounter - friends not food

...or, "How to pacify an angry Thargoid". It's worth noting that my first couple of attempts at contact resulted in being attacked (hence the 99% hull - their weapons partially penetrated my shields, a bit like Phasing Sequence lasers).

This time, though, I got as close as I could while it was scanning the Imperial ships, and as soon as it turned around and launched its Thargons, I didn't try to run away or deploy weapons - I just stopped, and the Thargons went into a holding pattern around it.

    we always see these thargoid ships scanning the destroyed ships... but never see them attack ships other than playerships that get too close or have their items or guardian items. Is it still possible that the green glowing blown up ships were destroyed by the other Thargoid faction, or by Aegis missiles from human ships? the Thargoids scan the destroyed ships and take meta alloys and thargoid tech they find, as well as ocupied escape pods... are they abducting humans or rescuing them? Could Fdev have set these up so we ASS U ME that they are attacking?
