Welcome to the farm! If you're new here, this is perfect timing: we're starting planting season today. If you've been here for a while, I'm so thankful for you! I am so grateful to have you riding in the buddy seat of my John Deere tractor with me today: Day "0" of planting season!! This has been a long time coming; we've been prepping since the day harvest ended. I hope you learn something about why your local farmers are so stressed this time of year. Don't worry, theres a lot more to come, so I'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning for the official first day!

Laura's and Grant's presentation of their farming life is not only educating, it gives a genuine picture into the courage it takes to choose a farmers life. I for one am very proud of you both. You are the "best" of what our great country is and can be. Our prayers are with you.
  • @Bigdaddyslasher
People don't understand how hard farming is and how important it is for a great crop yield and what it means to all life on earth.
  • Thank u Grant for not wearing your ball cap backwards. Much appreciated. Brad n kalifornia
  • @weremodel
May the Good Lord bless your plantings, the crops growth, the harvest and the continued posting of videos that help keep us grounded in who we are. 85-90 trips around the sun and we are done but the planting goes on.

Don't climb ladders with bags! Use your JLG tele-handler or a forklift to lift the entire pallet up to the top of your tank. The climb up and dump bags😊
  • @williamj3843
Can you use the telehandler to lift a pallet of seeds so that you only have to open and dump? Best of luck with your 2024 crop.

We've been here from the beginning. Can't believe it was four years ago!

Planting corn is like putting a nickle on a park bench and praying that when you come back months later it's turned into a Quarter.
  • As young farmers you are blessed having great farming mentors in your life. Both of your parents and grandparents are probably very proud to see their next generation continuing the family tradition.

May your Lord bless You, Grant, Pepper and family to have a great planting season and positive productive growing season into harvest.

Its 4:30 into your video and I want to remind you that you have GREAT skill and want to be able to let your machines work and do the proper job YOU set them to. Trusting in yourself is HUGE and does take time and energy. Heck, even at the age of 54 I still question myself. Day 0 ???
  • @mikem201
The stress on your face was evident during the opening Laura, you and Grant have got this. Here's to a safe and bountiful season for Laura Farms!
  • @Coffeeology
Tell me when Pepper was on your lap she had that perfect warmed from napping in the sun feel that cats get.

Laura, even though we are not related in any way shape or form, I still want to tell you as a father of three daughters that I am proud of you. I wish I could wrap my arms running and give you a big hug that means a gentle hug.
  • @darkiee69
Why not use the telehandler to lift up the seed pallet to the planter? Less lifting that way.
  • @philipmasie
Congratulations 🎉 on getting the first day of planting knocked off!
