Apartment & Grocery Haul in Vietnam

Published 2024-03-31
We rented an apartment in vietnam at the Nga Cua Te and did a grocery haul from a nearby market. Everything was so cheap and fresh. Enjoy this video showing how easy it is to settle down in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang.

Don't haggle unless you're in a tourist trap market. The regular markets are not charging you more than the locals. They are generally crazy cheap, especially groceries, restaurant/street food and services. Good for you that you're not haggling at local markets. It's so rude for foreigners to haggle over 5 or 10k with small sellers who are already making very little profit.

Shopping at the fresh markets is a fun day and big savings over any of the grocery stores……looking more like locals now😃

Love that book shelf. Amazing prices for the groceries!

I love the glimpse at a real Vietnamese market! It must be nice to chill out in one place for a little while.

The nearby market is very convenient, just go out to buy cheap and fresh food and cook a delicious meal for your family!
  • Well you both have a nice place to stay & cook VN style meals. Today is Sunday March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday here in the USA. You two are probably a day ahead of USA. So enjoy your cute apartment & cooking for yourself. Someday you will have to come back here. You will extreme culture shock.

5:27 : small lizards are often found in homes ( wall and ceiling ) and people don't chase them away because they eat mosquitoes . Lizards in the house , less mosquitoes bites .

Nice apartment, and if the location works best for you, Bonus!! Lovin' the daily life, and seeing the sights. I pray you can keep living as you choose.
  • Love the apartment! It's very nice and contemporary. Enjoyed seeing you go to the market. Great deal on the groceries. I agree on haggling for textiles and other things but not for food. Nice video, you two. I appreciate you taking us along. And telling us your stories. Have a great week, you two! Bye now 👋🙂

I couldn't even guess how much you spent in us or Vietnamese. I know it's way cheaper there. Have you learned any recipes or cooking ideas? And are we going backwards in videos? We've seen when you were leaving the apt and the new years! I'm so confused. It's really hard to focus today anyways because I'm tired, so I could be wrong. Anyways, I am glad you two are fully immersed in the culture. That makes it easier for you two! Thanks for showing us the place and your shopping experience! It's so great to know that you can still find deals in each city you travel through! ❤

Looks a cool place to stay, and shopping in other countries is always interesting!

Nice place! Love seeing Herman too, I'm all for pets that eat bugs. My guess for the food was $15 max. Love Liz's helmet but it would have been funnier if it was the 3xl. lol Enjoy your new digs & adventures there!

Another beautiful video, I am really happy when I see you because apart from what you show us in the videos you are always with a smile!! Be careful and have fun!!

Love that bookshelf!!! I'm sure it was nice to have some extra space to spread out and feel more like home!
  • I’m a little jealous of your grocery haul. I only spent about $90 at the supermarket this week (I didn’t need a lot of stuff) and was proud of how little I spent. My guess on your food bill was $10, so I was pretty close.

Wow, you guys are BALLIN’! 🙌🏼 Really do like your temporary house! I absolutely LOVE the tree book shelf! I wonder how hard it would be to make that… 🤔 Loved the grocery haul—although, where’s the cilANTRO?!🌿 😂 (Curious-how tall are you, Charley?) You guys are really getting immersed in the culture there-I love it! ❤
  • I like the apartment. I really like the way they built the tree shaped shelf on the wall. I would guess $70 in the US and maybe $35 there ? Can't wait to see how far off I am off. I was off a bit, lol Such a small price to pay to have wheels to get around :) If only the US was this way, one could actually have some money to enjoy life more. Thanks for sharing your apartment and shopping with us 😊
