Let's just take 3 strings in one position to start working through these chord changes. This will really help you see and hear this stuff better I think.

There's so much you can do with this. And it's amazing practice!

Thanks always!

Love the fundamental stuff. Probably 90% of us are hobby players and this gets us going in the right direction. Thanks buddy.

« You’re not changing keys, but you are changing chords, so you have to honor that chord change » that’s a gold nugget of wisdom right there!

Please, please keep this level of teaching coming. You’re always going to have new lesser experienced people watching your channel, this is a big help.

Even when I know the chord shapes, scales, arpeggios, & double stops, it’s the style you use with them that teaches me more. Hence the likes, subs & tip that we can’t afford to ignore if we want lessons like this to keep coming. Thanks GT.

I know you didn’t, but please don’t apologise for going back to the basics . I always learn something or have that lightbulb moment. Appreciate you Guthrie

Its incredible everyone. I have played 45 years and just 5-years ago I discovered Guthrie. Now all I see is chord tones / shapes. Before I made a sound, now I think I understand what I am doing. Guthries practical approach is totally priceless. I need a bit of surgical maintenance on the hands but shit I think I now get it. Dont underestimate what GT is telling us. IT IS GOLD!

Thank you for explaining these things and breaking it down so it makes sense and also sharing your knowledge I wish you knew how much it's means to me Thank you again.
  • @dlmyrs
Thanks for your time to teach this, Guthrie. Appreciate it and helps me make sense of triads.

Hi Guthrie, your previous lesson 5 days ago in A is an absolutely top class material with those B.B. King style phrasings. I will spend some time on that for sure, thank you! You and Jack Ruch are both tasteful, very alike slow blues players and teachers in my opinion, it would be a pleasure to see the two of you play the blues together.
  • Awesome GT. Can't wait to spend my afternoon on this. You're the real deal and it shines through all your videos.

back in the day all i had was some hippy at Lous music land in Stratford ct show how to play the freebird cowboy chords!! now we have guys like you!! the future is pretty cool at least we have you instead flying car my 3rd grade teacher Ms Sherman promised me: Thanks man
  • @tonyleary684
As simple as thus appears to be, it is totally incredible. Music comes from listening, experience and creativity but this is the HOW! F***ng brlliant. I dont want to learn from a teacher, I want to learn from a proper musician and guitarist. The real deal. Artistworks is brilliant but from the video exchanges. I lost it but am now totally re-inspired. THNAK YOU

Working on this today as my guitar practice for the day
  • Your lesson on blues over A totally clicked. Yes... I understood hitting the money notes over the chords and was trying that... but after 40 years playing around with this instrument something clicked during that lesson. I think it was not only hitting the chord tones, I was doing that but the notes before and after the money tones also. Thank you so much.
  • @jeffcramer2463
Thanks Guthrie. Another generous sharing of knowledge. Have a great weekend😊

I live here in Indiana and visit my son in Nashville time to time. I play semi professionally up here. I just have to say that really appreciate you and uncle Larry so much! There isn’t much chance to play with musicians that challenge each other in a positive musical way around here doing cover songs. I glean so much from you guys it’s amazing and it works in my playing! I love your simple stripped down no nonsense videos! Thank you ! Great advice and lessons
