Ireland's HIGHEST Mountain: Carrauntoohil Hike Guide - WATCH TO THE END!

Published 2021-11-01
After a work trip to Ireland, I decided to add a few days for some hiking. The weather forced me to change my original plan, but I was still able to hike Caher & Caurauntoohil - Ireland's 3rd and 1st highest mountains on one hike. I know it's clickbait, but seriously, make sure you watch until the end of this video. This hike was about 8 miles (12.8km) with 4,000ft of elevation gain. This was filmed in late October.

Read a more detailed trail guide on this hike on my website: www.thevirtualsherpa.com/carrauntoohil-irelands-hi…

Great shots when the clouds finally broke. Glad to see you expand your adventures beyond CO and even US. Hope you visit the Alps and even Himalaya region in the not too distant future
  • The clouds make it look so epic when you get to the summit! I am at a loss for words… just so amazing! Wow!

I was climbed this for the first time last year! We managed to get a good day for it. Loved your video, you have a new subscriber in Mexico city 🙂

    Hi
I’m going to give you a subscription because you turned back feeling it was unsafe on the first day out.
    Setting a great example
It does not need to be a high mountain to be a dangerous mountain
  • This looks awesome! And looks like a number of hikes up here in Alaska, even down to the bog crossings and dampness. 😂 Great stuff!

This is a typical Irish mountain hike. It's like being on a wet & windy bog with a steep incline and occasional clusters of rock. I love it but it's not for everyone. I always wear a pair of mountain boots (Lowa or Scarpa) for these hikes even in Summer.

Great video, can’t believe you were the only person on the summit 🙌🏼

World traveler, another great video! You definitely deserve more subscribers.

Great video! If you enjoyed this, I think you’d also really like the Scottish Highlands, especially along the west coast of Scotland, if you ever get a chance to go there. With your abilities, you’d have a great time in the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye!

  • Amazing, I’m hoping to climb this one next year 🤩 glad you got the views sooooo incredible
  • Amazing..well done for braving the clouds..your choice really paid off with that cloud inversion you got🙂👍👍
