Perhaps Florence Nightengale shouldn't have bothered to devote her life to tending to the sick and improving nursing care, since "childless women" have no stake in the future. Or the veritable army of unmarried, childless school mistresses who taught generations of children - they shouldn't have wasted their time on other people's children, should they? It would have been much more beneficial to the world if they had just had children of their own. And don't get me started on all the childless men, like Issac Newton and Ludwig Van Beethoven, who made no significant contributions to Western Civilization at all, because they didn't become fathers!
