The Mogilles family, the family behind McHardy’s Chicken and Fixin’, has been frying chicken in New Orleans’ Seventh Ward since 2000 (   • Fried Chicken At A Distance  ). What started from Grandma’s secret fried chicken recipe has evolved into three generations working together under one roof, day in and day out. At the center of it all is Rahman, who single-handedly fries every piece of chicken, along with his two daughters, his mother, and his father. It’s not always easy running a business with family, but the rewards far outweigh the challenges.

Amazing that his daughter is 13 but already has a business mindset. Way to teach your children through your actions. And that chicken looks good af.

I’m really feeling the grandfather and grandmother’s vibe. They’re clearly educated, had decent white collar jobs, but decided to come back to do something closer to their souls.
  • This entire family is so attractive. Love their dynamic. The grandma looks amazing

This is literally right down the street from my apartment but hadn’t heard of it as I’m new in Nola. Went to try it today based on this video and it’s genuinely some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Fully recommend.

  • I love his attitude. When he said, "can't nobody fry chicken better than me." That reminds me of my mother. Job well done.

Man, that moment at 9:56-9:57! That is a moment that everyone parent wants, when you know that you raised your children well and they are going to be okay. Who wouldn't be proud of that wonderful 13-year old girl whose maturity, intelligence, and optimistic vision could rival any adult? I came for the chicken, but left with a joy of seeing this great family. God bless them!

I live about 6 mins away from this joint and it’s the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life.
  • The way Rahman talked about the chicken in the beginning was so full of passion. I believe every word that he says and wish I lived near enough so I could have their chicken.
