Great video and really helpful thanks. One thing I couldn’t get my head around when setting it up which in the end was pretty obvious is that whichever track you’re trying to sample you need to select the same channel of the deck you’re using to sample on the FX on the mixer in order to get the signal to the DJS. Keep up the good work and anymore videos on the DJS will be greatly appreciated

FINALLY an EZ to follow demonstration how to pull samples from the CDJ to the DJS. Thank you!
  • @ericlloyd7981
This demo solidifies the question why, when we see these for retail price even at second hand and no box or manual.
  • @Dj-GWave
This was a great demo. Thanks. Keep them coming

Really love your videos. Been contemplating on purchasing the DJS 1000 and your content really helps me in making that decision.

Amazing demo and great explanation of the DJS-1000, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge!

another excellent DJS-1000 concept + real world use, with all the necessary details. if you look at the history of 'samplers' one would be hard pressed finding one with sampling abilities that were greater than what's possible using the DJS's two primary external sampling modes (LIVE SAMPLING as shown in this video and SAMPLING/EDIT), RESAMPLING (internal sampling of audio with any applied fx1 or performance fx and/or modulation captured as audio), and AUDIO RENDERING (track/pad or master recorded as wav per each Pattern) coupled with the immediacy and performance friendly (or at least 'usability') access/use of what's just been sampled. lots of samplers do many groovebox things better than the DJS can, any many have deeper sampling abilities in one or two modes, but nothing compares to the ease of sampling, saving, and then ejecting the usb or being able to Live Sample and then have it begin playing immediately, in time and quantized with instant slicing in real time. anyway, i look forward to the next one

Great video boss ! It’s exactly how I have things setup except I have sp-16.

Great video on this topic, thank you for creating this! I am not a DJ, but rather look into adding a performance sampler / looper to my live setup. That's based aroudn a couple of drummachines such as the 909, 808 and an Akai MPC plus some synths like the 303 and so on. I tried an #AkaiRemix16 before, but that's not flexible enough. An #Octatrack would probably fit the bill very well, but a 4x4 pad matrix and the immediacy of use here with the DJS-1000 is great! I wonder if the sampling process can be somewhat synced to the CDJ. As in the start and end points. Since the CDJ already "knows" where the grid is with the audio, it would be cool if the DJS could just sync to that for the requested snippet length. Even transferring a loop directly to the DJS would be a cool idea. As a "send this loop to the DJS"-function on the CDJ. So you would not have any changes on the audio when going through the mixer. Maybe that Link-protocol is capable of sending audio from one device to another? I am not familiar with Pioneer DJ gear. But I recently was given a RMX-1000 and was really surprised how usable that box is. So I am researching the DJS-1000 a little these days 🙂

Wow amazing thanks for the video. I’ve got a FLX10 and was wondering if this would work on that Ddj controller?
  • I JUST LOOKED AT YOUR VIDEO! GREAT PRESENTATION MY BROTHER! ONE THING I CAN SEE IS, SOMEONE REALLY NEED TO GET FAMILIARIZE WITH ALL THE FEATURES OF THE EQUIPMENT. OTHERWISE, SOMEONE WILL BE TOTALLY LOSS AND FRUSTRATED. WHEN THINGS DON'T WORK OUT RIGHT!
  • @DJMANICO1
Very good tutorial. I have had this sampler from Day one. Never used it . Reason due to pioneer dj poor promotion and lack of tutorials. All you would see on pioneer web page is DJs show boating, not teaching any thing. Great job man very good tutorial keep them coming.

Good video, I have the DJS and the SP-16 and think they're great machines. Correct me if I'm wrong but when sampling looping audio and the start isn't in the correct place you can move the position of the start as the sample wraps around? Not that it matters in this case if the sample is triggered but it would if it's going to be looped. Would have been nice to have quantized recording, maybe in the next firmware update🤣
  • @rosta2899
Can this also be done on the Toraiz SP 16?
  • @Nildefects
Thanks for the video. Is there a way to tighten the sample recording using sync and Pro DJ link? Rather than relying on your human timing? Thanks.
