Canadian Sunset - Andy Williams and Glen Campbell (cool guitar solo included)

Published 2016-03-18
From The Glen Campbell Music Show, a syndicated US music television series from 1982/83, Andy Williams and Glen Campbell perform "Canadian Sunset" as a duet. Plus of course, as Andy says at the end, some "good guitar playing!"

  • Because Glen was such a great vocalist, people didn't realize how great a guitarist he was. He was a most sought after session musician in his early days and a member of the legendary "Wrecking Crew".

When he got sick he could still play the guitar so well, he was a truly gifted musician.

Glen was truly a guitar giant. Amazingly versatile and a technical beast.
  • There aren't many "mainliners" (aka TV show hosts) who will just go to harmony to support the guest. This was Glen's show and he did the harmony. Perry Como was another who had no problem doing harmony. Kudos to both Glen and Perry for their ultra professionalism.

This is one of the greatest videos on youtube!
  • I didn't know that Glen was such a good guitar player until I saw a "Wings of Pegasus" video where Phil analyzes a video of Glen and Jerry Reed playing together. Jerry Reed is/was no slouch himself!!
