Still surprised the Oscars haven't introduced an award for stunt work yet. It's honestly a disgrace
  • These stunt doubles risk their lives to make actors/actresses look good and the Oscars (and most film awards) don't even have an awards category for them. This lack of recognition is just disgusting.

"Take it from someone who has lost a lot of feeling, anything that makes you feel anything as a human being, embrace it don't run away from it." Amazing man.
  • Initially not wanting to tell his story; so kids didn't associate pain and injury with Harry Potter is just another testament to how much of a legend David really is. I hope he has a great life.

What an absolute pillar of strength that guy is. You've got to admire him

The part where he says that Harry Potter is safe zone for many around the world and he doesn’t want to get broken neck story into that.. im literally crying, he’s truly such an amazing, selfless and brave soul, it’s an honour just to watch him speak..

This guy is a testament to humanity. Robbed of so many things most of us take for granted but still smiling and worrying about others and not just himself. He is truly the very best of what it means to be human.

“I’m a tough mother f*cker” 😂yes indeed! Love his heart, charm, wit & attitude. Legend of a man.

8:56 "breaking my neck made a man of me - I was a 25year old boy"🥺😭 This young man still has his intellect, personality, humour and likeablity inta

This guy is a great person and wonderful storyteller. Hes clearly gone through a lot and seems like hes got a really healthy relationship with his injuries

“It changed my body. It didn’t change who I am.” Those are words I needed to hear. TY!

All he had been through and didn't lose his enthusiasm and drive what a King !👏. I wish this man every success and happiness in life.

I worked in the make up effects department on HPDH when this happened. I remember pulling up to security and it was swarming with press. We were all devastated when we heard the news. Bless him. He has so much strength!

One of the first times I've been genuinely moved by an interview. Interviewer needs a pat on the back too - letting him talk her through the entire ordeal. He is so well spoken, eloquently so. For a man who "lost it all" he's a damn site further on in life than many. What a top top guy. All the best to him in his future endeavors.

I just wanna thank the interviewer for this great heartfelt interview. I almost started crying when heard her voice crack. I don't know what your name is but you're my favourite interviewer in Lad bible. I love hearing your voice. And I wanna thank David for sharing his story. What a force of nature. I wanna thank him for helping create a franchise for a generation of fans to enjoy for decades. This video was amazing thank you ❤

David, my husband sustained a similar injury: a complete c3/c4 break when he was 46. He is now 70 and despite having a positive attitude the problems associated with kidney function have taken its toll. I like the way you describe assistants as P.A.s rather than caregivers, I will pass this on! Thank you David.
  • @anjaporter
I just can't believe I've never heard of this story and I'm such a Potter fan. I love his resilience and positivity, he exudes strength. So inspirational, and I appreciate how he said "I don't want to ruin HP for kids who love it". I'm not crying, you are!
  • @thekarmicbrat
FINALLY we hear his story. I've heard of him and this incident for years, and I'm so glad we got to hear about him like this so closely. I hope he knows that.
  • @DMasterMe
Saw him in a Goblet of Fire's additional materials about 20 years ago; heard about the accident nearly 10 years ago. I'm glad that finally David's story is being told and more people will know about him.
