A very rare Nirvana demo from 1991. Recorded at NOB Radio Studios in Hilversum, Netherlands. It also features many rare photos of the band. Please note, this song wasn't titled by Kurt.

Here's my interpretation for the first few lines of lyrics:

When I have a hand
When I have a hand
When I need a rest
From all that I've had
I know that I've had
Comin' to her sin
When I know I've had
Lend a helpin' hand
And I'll help herself

When I ya
When I ya
When I ya
When I ya
When I ya
When I ya

When I know I'm there
When I smell her stare
I know no one breathe
Send my soul right there
Sell my soul right there
And I'll know I'll be
From all that I have
When I know I have
When I have a plan

When I ya
When I ya
When I ya
Tonight ya
Tonight ya
Tonight ya

Imagine how many more cool ass songs Kurt would have made? Even his shitty unreleased copies were gold & not just because he died but they really were masterpieces!

fucking brilliant. cobain had a way of playing a tune into your head that was already there. he knew how to unlock it.

Old Nirvana demos sound better than most stuff on the radio today
  • "Are we recording?" Kurt you have been recording for the last minute and a half.

How can an unreleased demo be viewed more than a million times? What an amazing band Nirvana was

It's very scary, intense and moody. I wish I knew more songs like this.

Dave from afar: "horrified" Kurt as Skeletor: "I stand horrifi-e-ed" All on instruments: BRAHDUHDUHDUHDUHDUH!

Nirvana and Tool are good for cleansing your ears.

I've heard this song many years later, but you always think you've heard every Nirvana song, then another pops up. It always amazes me, I grew up to Nirvana in 92. I use to rock out on my guitar to Bleach for hours. If you grew up during those days no on can take it from you and Kurt's memory will be forever buried inside of you. The first time I heard that he died, something inside of me and millions of other teens then died. Music isn't like this anymore and its a real shame. Music corporations have drained the spirit from the fans. But there is a underground movement that is so strong coming from the web that if they wanted, they could swamp this bad music we hear about and give the world back good music. It's amazing to see kids today loving Nirvana, their parents my age grew up to this music, good for you, keep liking good music.

Nirvana is the only band known to man that can pull together a random jam session, then have it get half a million views on youtube. Miss you Kurt ='(

This is how you make good music. You jam it out. You let it flow out naturally. Alternative rock sounds so overproduced and over-calculated and soulless nowadays

"I stand horrified" is a reference to a Daniel Johnston song of the same name. Highly reccommend you listen to his music no matter who you are. It can be quite strange but if you get into it you'll never regret it.
  • ok , unfinished - sure . But the tempo and how the breaks are structured , very cool atmosphere , picturesque and dark
  • @coopergoss350
The conversation before the song was the coolest thing to me.

This song has so much potential. It’s a shame it never got finished. I could see it on In Utero.
  • He said that the album they were working on for 1995 was going to be really deep and if you didn't like it, so what? ...I'm wondering if it would have been something of this nature? Would have been cool!
