Not gonna lie… as a native Charlestonian, I opened this video ready to be amused with the typical romanticization of my hometown. I appreciate the intentionality and attention given to the architects and engineers of our particular brand of Southern Charm.

Charleston = world class food and fun. History is not for us to like or dislike. It is there for us to learn from. Not to erase or edit to our liking.
  • @joysilas4724
Lots of respect to you both for acknowledging the history in this town in a respectful light. God bless you both.
  • @GenesisMovie
Great video! Thank you for your thoughtful description about Charleston's history of slavery. You handled it so well. I was really moved.
  • @katehutto6004
Your opening about the slave culture was a excellent. Lest we forget. Its important to know what really happened. Thank you!

I went to Charleston for 3/4 of a day in November of 2021, and I just fell in love with the city. The historic buildings, the cobblestone streets and the Palmetto trees gives it a unique vibe. We also ate a Chubby Fish, and it was an amazing experience there. I'd like to add Hannibal's Kitchen as a must to eat. Insanely delicious Gullah food!

Wow! Another phenomenal video! Your parents clearly raised you both right, each place you visit your appreciation and respect is abundant, and well communicated. Thank you for sharing your journeys and adventures.

Y’all came to my hometown!!! That’s where I am! First, you educated us on the slave history is such an amazing way!!! GREAT JOB & thank you (on behalf of my ancestors) I go to Vicious Biscuit alll the time & every time I love it! Rodney Scott is the jam! It was only fitting that he cooked for the ladies on Real Housewives of ATL when they came to IOP & recorder 3 or 4 episodes. Which camera do y’all use? I struggle with the settings when going inside & outside. Your clips are flawless! I can’t believe the Market was closed bc it’s never closed… lol I rarely see the pineapple off too…. I’m subscribing so I’ll know when y’all come back So happy your video came up! Even tho I live here & I’m a native, you have me such an experience! I watched every commercial & May have to check out your patreon
  • Slavery was a horrible time in our history. No man has the right to own another man. Just remember, not all slaves were kidnapped. A lot were traded and or sold by their own tribes. So when we speak of slavery we need to also let people know How they were brought here. And not all slave traders were American. The British also had their hands in on it.

Omg I love you .. you told the story many people are ashamed or too embarrassed to tell. Thank you for sharing the history of my people.
  • I enjoy this channel and admire this couple's stamina. I traveled solo in my truck all over the country and road-tripping can be a grind. I couldn't imagine doing what I did with another person! I guess with an RV you wouldn't have to rough it so much, but I saved a ton of money and used it on all kinds of gear and equipment.
  • Thank you. Yours is one of very few channels that relates a more complete history of the places you visit. It's appreciated.
  • @suewellings4500
Thank you guys for taking us to one of our most desired destinations. Your little faces say it all with the foods you tasted today. Thank you again for making the most wonderful vlogs. Take care. Sue & John
  • Great to see one of my favorite places from when I was a teen through "grown up" eyes with you all! Safe Travels!
  • I SO recommend going on the Two Sisters Walking Tour if you’re ever in town. I have been 2 times and so thoroughly enjoyed it both times. You really get a look at all of the nooks and crannies around Charleston that you would miss otherwise. They grew up in CHS and have such thorough knowledge. So worth your time!
  • @ghumplik
I’m planning a trip to Charleston in 3 weeks from now and was really impressed by the way you presented the city, it’s history and what it has to offer. Some great ideas for our upcoming trip. If you ever find yourself in Ottawa Canada and need a tour guide to show you around hit me up.
  • Amazingly well-done video! I looked for a resource like this when I visited my boyfriend there in November. Will definitely be using it when I go back for a visit!
  • @dekelly7726
Marty’s place is another unique dining is like a modern 1950’s restaurant you order on a kiosk and they shout your order out loud like an old school hole the wall restaurant wich is a very unique restaurant
  • We love Charleston. We did a beer tour it was a super cool way to hear history and try different bars. We have been 2 times and this town never gets old. New Subscriber here.
