Moab's Arches & Canyonlands National Parks Plus Dead Horse & More- Shafer 4x4 Trail

Published 2023-06-17
From travel writer / photogrpaher Steve Salis this is a Comprehensive Guide to Moab's Arches & Canyonlands National Parks & Dead Horse St. Park & Much More. first I take you on a tour of Arches NP including "The Windows", the hike to Delicate Arch and the Devil's Garden in the Fins.

I provide photography tips at each location!

I tell you how to get a timed entry ticket to get into Aches and tell you how and when you can get in without one.
Then, we tour Canyonlands NP and drive down the 4x4 Shafer trail and drive back to Moab. We'll see rock climbers along the way.
One of my favorite photography places is Dead Horse Point State Park- this place is incredible!
I then take you on a scenic drive along the Colorado River on Hwy 128 where there are Float trip opportunities and expert rock climbing.

Dead Horse State Park is a special place indeed. I once drove up early to catch the sunrise but it was raining heavily, so I napped in my car. When I woke up the rain was gone and there was an eerie fog and a blue hue unlike anything I'd ever experienced before, and as you stated just a beautiful silence. I will never forget that day, it might still be as of today my favorite morning ever.

Hope to get back to Moab it has changed a lot from when I was there in 1970.
  • We travel to the west every year. I am so intrigued with the geology and creation of the Colorado Plateau. I’ve been to nearly all of the parks and spend time improving my photography skills. This channel hits all my points of interest! Love the geologic info, guide info, and the photos!!
