I've had nine interviews these past two weeks, they no longer cause me any anxiety. In fact, they just irritate me now.

Holy crap, the girl for the "tell me about yourself" sounds like me. I literally did switch back and forth between art and economics!
  • @darkwave957
That question "tell me about yourself" is probs the hardest one to answer. I'm so nervous I have an interview at 12 and I'm grinding these videos lmfao

I hate the way employers want you to brag at interviews, shake hands with strangers, maintain eye contact, smile-look interested, wear a suit, say nothing at all negative... Is it just me, or are employers looking for politicians rather than workers?

Remember everyone don't wear your cash money records chain !

don't ask how much they pay an hour unless they offer to tell you.
  • A long time ago, I got into an interview with a guy that actually turned ugly very quickly. This guy started out trying to catch me in a lie type of thing and very soon, it went from bad to worse. When I look back on it, I think I did the right thing by just saying "Look, if you don't want to hire me, it's fine. By the end of the day, I'll have a new job going, no matter what. Have a good one, goodbye" and then, leaving the area. Unknown to you, some people have it in for you, long before you step into that office and not much of what you're going to say, is going to make ANY difference one way or the other. In that situation, you need to focus on what's most important to you (not to them). Your TIME is extremely valuable, MUCH more than you actually think. Don't waste another precious second of it, on some corporate slug badl. Don't lose your temper (maybe a little but that's all). Don't lose your FOCUS. Just accept reality for what it is and move forward from that situation, ASAP (as soon as possible). Focus on that list you made BEFORE you headed out of the house on YOUR job hunt - and ONTO the NEXT one on your hit list. Stupid people are the gamut these days and they're everywhere. Beware. Don't let them waste your precious time. Good hunting.
  • I CAN DO THIS!!(gets pumped the fuck up) LETS DO THIS SHIT!! (punches employer in the mouth)

I always go in so nervous to an interview but as soon as i arrive on time and they tell me theyre gonna need more time, i lose all respect and i stop being nervous ....
  • @crime1276
I always thought interviews were silly to base someone's ability to successfully work a job by the way they can speak about themselves all grandiose like a braggart. Like you're really gonna hire someone over a conversation that sounds good to the employer.

This is pretty good for an older video. :) Good job guys.

"Always wear a suit". Okay, what about if you are applying for a job in construction or transportation? How about the people getting a minimum wage job in fast food or retail? I think the rule to "always" wear a suit only applies if your going for something like management, financial services or some kind of administrative or office position.

That one diffusing answer: "I like to focus on the job, not my personal life" is perfect for those prying men in Words with Friends: "Are you married?" etc. Now I'll know to say "I prefer to focus on the game, and not my personal life." I'm so sick of men hitting on me when I just want to play a game!
  • @whittyjd
Nowadays you are essentially being assessed on how well you can answer questions in an interview, rather than how well you could actually perform in the job.
  • @FrankyThree
Although this video is KINDA corny in 2017, it works very well!!! The points are clear and explained, thanks! I have my first interview tomorrow
