Guys, I'm an Idiot! This is/was the Element Enduro Knightwalker and I turned it in to an Awesome PreRunner. a 6000kv brushless motor running 3s (approx 75,000rpm). Anyway, I thought I was being a know it all haha.

Phil. I'm going to annoy you.😅 Saying "IFS suspension at the front" is like saying "reverse back the car backwards." Loads of redundancy. Seeing as IFS means independent front suspension. So yep, I agreed. You are an idiot.😂😂 Just joking. A little banter never hurts. Thoroughly enjoyed your video, as usual. You're probably my favourite RC YouTuber. Took the top spot from Kev.

A lot of Pre-Runners are two wheel drive with an 'I' Beam front end, but I would just leave the front end and remove the front wheel drive assembly for a near perfect Pre-Runner.
  • I endorse your decision on the body swap. Looks far better. NOBODY in the real world puts solid axels on Tundra's, Sema trucks aren't real trucks their closer to model cars.
  • @disciplinerc
You beat me to it 😮 Very cool build dude, you're right, they did miss that evolution, but you nailed it 🙌💯🔥
  • @2wheelLove
we need more scale builds like this. Love the prerunner scale look!
  • @Hillbillypunk
I haven't seen a Toyota truck made with a straight front axle since the 80's. That one picture you put up was a totally custom thing. I'd say you're on the right track.

The key to getting the suspension on these right is bypass shocks and light spring weight, using the oil in the shocks to support the truck rather than the springs. If you can get an extra set of springless shocks on there that would help massively with the bouncing. The other thing successful prerunnner/trophy/stadium trucks like this have is being very heavy for the size. A UDR is 6+kg and the SBR tips the scales at 10kg, and that's without batteries. When you think that the wheels on these are considerably lighter than the mammoth wheels on something like an Xmaxx, that's a lot of weight in the body of the truck that is acting on the suspension which is why it moves like it does. Not having that weight means that the suspension is more likely to act on the truck than the other way around. Get some lead in there! Would also be tempted to try and extend the hexes or axles in general to make it less rolly, and either rivet some arch extensions on it or use a different, wider shell if you can find one. Truck looks cracking though, nice job. 👌

What a sweet rig! That driver and interior really ties it all together 👍🤜🤛🫡

If you have a 220x220 build plate then all you need todo is cut the Interior in half then print it , or contact knight custom and they'll do it for you

Love it! Good colour combo and that interior does finish it off nicely

In the slow motion speed shots. It would be nice to stiffen up the rear of the body and also get the rear suspension to stop bouncing the truck into the air. Maybe get the front suspension to react to the terrain. Maybe it is too stiff? I'd like to see if you can get the suspension to work more like a full scale prerunner if possible. Hopefully you like this idea.

I totally want to do this build. Hemistorm mentioned it a while ago but I couldn't get around to it. The fact that you did proof of concept just makes it easier for me to recreate. Thanks!
  • @henkketelaars
@5:01 if you can't fix it with duct-tape..... you're using not enough. LOL

Cool build! It’s something I’d like to try in the future. Desert truck setup tip: you want more weight in the back than in the front (opposite to a normal crawler). This helps the front end glide over bumps. Full size race trucks are set up that way. I’m curious to see how it would handle if you moved the battery to the rear.
  • Their version and the prototype are of course really cool trail trucks, but I do like the way you built-it up as a proper IFS/trailing arm pre-runner!
  • @willbingo
Always a fan of custom builds nice job 👍
  • @RC-Closer1313
Nice speed on that truck… perfect I would say😳… those slow mo suspension shots were just awesome!!
  • You did an amazing job with the editing. Making it look like a full size. I'm inspired to do this myself
  • killer build! and i agree, the IFS looks great! i would try and find a way to stiffen up that bed though. takes away from the prerunner vibe when the beds bending like crazy and its prolly going to start cracking soon too
