The politician, who campaigned for justice for wrongly convicted sub-postmasters, says the secret recording of a meeting in 2013 attended by Paula Vennells - exclusively revealed by ITV News last week - answers a question campaigners have been asking for years about what she knew and when.

On July 2 2013, in a meeting with independent investigators Ian Henderson and Ron Warmington from Second Sight, Ms Vennells was made aware of allegations that Sub-postmaster branch accounts could be accessed remotely.

This is something the Post Office had denied for years as hundreds of Sub-postmasters were convicted.

30 years in prison and fully asset-stripped. Her liquid assets should be confiscated to pay towards court costs, the £100m court case that needn't have taken place due to her lies, subpostmaster recompense and us the tax-payer. She should have her post office pension confiscated too. What a disgraceful woman.

It's now clear she lied to Parliament! ARREST HER NOW!!
  • @mrmyorky5634
She didn't just allow totally innocent people to go to prison. She deliberately sent them to prison in order to cover up something that she KNEW was a disastrous failure. Paula Vennells will live on in history as a shining example of an totally revolting human being.
  • @EmptyGlass99
If she and some of her colleagues do not serve any custodial sentence then there is no justice left in this country.

Paula Vennells enjoyed watching whilst she inflicted pain, prison, death, family breakdown, depression, bankrupcy, homelessness etc on other people...a seriously sick and dangerous individual, she could have stopped it at any time...but carried on doing it again and again and again....this is a psychopath pretending to be human?
  • @CatchYourselfOn
If there was actual justice in this country, Paula would spend as much time in jail as every single sub-postmaster had to.

The level of corruption and criminality within the top echelons of society is horrifying - just HOW EVIL would a person need to be to KNOWINGLY allow innocent people to go to prison?
  • @dismalfist
SEND POLICE NOW - She may attempt to flee and MUST stand trial.
  • @nockianlifter661
She should be in prison for life. The degree of suffering she caused and then knowing about it.
  • @stevetee4145
She’s only sorry because she’s been found out. She needs a prison sentence.

Crozier, the prior CEO also needs to be held to account. He is equally implicated.
  • Isn't this enough evidence for the police to arrest Vennels? She misled the parliamentary committee and from the time she knew Fujitsu were able to remotely enter post masters computers the post office was still prosecuting people
  • @fleshboundtobone
Who has sat on these tapes for 20 years only to release them now??
  • @guff9567
Why is Vennells not behind bars ?
