Just saw a picture of a large soapstone boulder in Rhode Island and the Indians carved bowls just like what you showed. They were supposedly carved out about 3,000 years ago. Interesting.

It’s sad how some people will go in and destroy something like that soapstone where the bowls were being made by breaking them or cutting them out. Thank you for protecting this spot by not releasing the location.

That soapstone is very valuable just a small piece on ebay is over $25.00. Thouse large pieces are worth thousands of dollars.

Hey Jerry. Nice to see you treasure hunting again. Were those bowls for acorn grinding. That is what they did in California. They made very deep holes in the bedrock for grinding acorns. I finally got out for the 2nd time this weekend. Probably found 3 grams of gold. My friend found about over 8 grams on the last day, with most of it coming the last 1/2 hour. Also went to California and had to evacuate our camp. Lost all my mining equipment and camping gear to the Mckinney fire. Not been a great year for mining :( At least I am still blessed with a good life :) Say hello to the Rust queen. I need to catch up on the car videos. Take care !

What will you do with those stones ? We stopped at one of those tourist gem mines once,I got 3 or4 low grade emeralds ,had one cut for a ring.Not worth anything but I like it.

What part of south Carolina are ya'll in? I didnt know there was corundum in SC how wide spread is it? Im in Georgia and besides some little bits here and there up in the northeast theres really nothing here haha

I got a 96 carat blue and white 6 sided sapphire crystal in a local creek. It is translucent, not opaque, but I am told it is next to worthless unless the sun shines thru it? should I have it cut maybe or leave it alone? so far as I know, it is the only blue sapphire crystal found in Indiana. I was told somebody musta dropped it I doubt that as it was 18 inches down in a gravel bar where I was dredging. for goldJust happened to catch it in my highbanker hopper, totally by chance.

There is a gentleman up in British Colombia by the name of Dan Hurd. He prospects for gold and all kinds of gemstones. He owns numerous gold and gemstone claims in BC.
