I own one. Brought it in N.J. It needed work. Nothing too expensive thank God. I replaced the front shocks and struts. Sway bars. Front tires, spark plugs, drain all fluids. For the price I paid, under 2500, not bad. The windshield had a crack and I replaced the entire windshield. that was an easy repair for under 200. All in all my 2003 element ex was a good sale.
  • Taking it through the twisties was satisfying to watch. I don't know where you're at but it reminds me a lot of the mountain and foothills here in central California/Fresno area.
  • This is what I have and am going to be rebuilding next week. 04 5 speed AWD

Sweet ride! I have the o5 5spd 2w but also in the green. Freaking love mine. Just did a lot of tune up work on her next I need to do is the Rack and pinion that’ll be pricy and a lot of work but gotta keep this baby the best I can!

Im might be buying one at a small dealer sold as is. Clutch is 7 years old most of the maintanence was done at Honda service centre. How was the undercarriage? Im up in Canada so im worried about rusted Rockers panels not passing safety. I heard for the most part Honda did a good job on rust protection on these Elements.

An Element would be perfect for a shooting platform

Did you keep the car gear 4 all the time?

I have a 2003 manual bought in 2008 for $7800 with 95k miles. I'm up to 150k now and see similar ones for sale for $7k. What depreciation!

Yep. Got an '05 AWD with a 5-speed and 135,000 miles (219,000 kms). Sounds like you are shifting at about 4000 RPM. No need to do that with this K-series engine - 2500 RPM is lots for basic city cruising, 4000 if you "want the vtec to kick-in"! LOL

Have you received the new recall for the Honda Element 2003 to 2010 rear brace support my dealer said if the car was too rusted out they would be keeping the car because it’s unsafe to drive and giving me book value for my 2006 Honda element with 490,000 km , which is probably nothing. I don’t think I’m going to be bringing it in for the recall I don’t wanna take that chance, of them keeping my car.

I have a 2003 with 180k and when you turn the motor on you can barely feel it on in drive or park. I have the automatic.
