I can't even imagine the level of adrenaline from an experience like this. It truly looks terrifying from the POV. So much raw power.
  • Steve was absolutely dialled in on the last lap with that sweet overtake and then really giving it the stick. Glorious oversteer, engine note and raw power!

Marlboro MP 4 , the yellow Helmet . Saw him in Spa in 1991 , aged 11 standing on Kemmel Straight. Epic Moment for me ... Now in 2021 ,41 Years old still got Goosebumps thinking of that Moment .... R.I.P Ayrton 🇧🇷

I really love this era of F1, no computers, actual stick shift and clutch, real passing!
  • Massive respect to anyone who takes one of these beasts by the horns and makes it angry. It is scary enough just to watch, I can't imagine the bravery required to put one's faith in such a brutal machine. Massive respect to Steve Hartley. Amazing driving and fantastic overtaking. You really fought hard for that last one.

Man, this camera position looks so good, seems like I'm driving

This is driving!!! Traction control = right foot, clutch = left foot, shifting with gear shift and no help from electronics or telemetry or whatsoever, it's all the driver and his talent to push the car to his limit, this is how it should be done! Great respect for these drivers and to Steve for his wonderful run

he is doing lap times of 1m23s to 1m24s. The fastest lap in the 1982 race had been a 1m13s by Brian Henton, pole position time was a 1m9,5s by Keke Rosberg.

To be completely honest I initially thought they were just going to drive around a bit to show off the cars, once I realized they were lining up for a flying start to actually race I had the biggest smile on my face.

Absolute finest of racing cars must be raced in these types of series.

I think I held my breath for like 3 minutes, this was amazing. Had the fortune to see these cars racing at the Laguna Seca Motorsports Reunion and it's an incredible experience!
  • @konstagold
The sound those engines produce is absolutely sublime
  • @MrTypic
There should be a separate formula league to just keeping these cars.
  • @vee588
That was such an assault on my senses.... and I loved every second of it! It felt so raw!

  • @way2fitTV
This is FANTASTIC. That last lap with the overtake then he was clear to really push. he was already gaining on the leader. I want more!
  • @kaarmapolice901
It’s everything about it. His head shaking like he’s having a seizure, countersteering almost every corner, that noise oh, like something out of a movie! Bloody amazing, big balls mr Hartley!
  • @chumleyk
Brilliant camera position. Closest I've ever felt to actually driving the thing. Great to see him take off at the end after he overtook the Williams and didn't have to worry about rear-ending the classic any more.

That experience has to be amazing. Those cars were superfast and their sound will remain in the minds of everybody
