I love that she explains the importance of braids and what it means to black culture. It’s always deeper than hair 💛

I appreciate the knowledge. Although im not black i like to learn about different cultures. Thx for this video! She makes it look easy i cant do it over! Only under. Wish i could figure it out ❤ respect given!

And it's literally to keep our hair moisturized and protected....our hair needs moisture and this style holds it in longer. Our styles have a function for our hair's health!! So others who wear it to be "cool" literally have no idea what they're doing. Appropriation in a nutshell. Cultural things have a reason! Yes it looks cute (cuz what we do is always the shit), but that's why we get angry when others do it, because they literally don't know WTH the reason is

It is wonderful art. I have always admired the art in cornrows and as a hairstylist, learning it’s significance was important.

I have a question. Don't mean no harm, I'm just curious. Is it cultural appropriation when white people use cornrows in all cases or when we wear it not acknowledging that they are part of your culture?
  • Thumbs up from the first sentence..I always try to explain this with out sounding like I'm a new black guy who became a hater
