A century and a half ago, we lakotas, nakotas, dakotas, were at war with these tribes, blackfeet, crow, and others, that is history, we need to be all one tribe, let the conflicts of the past stay there, we must be natives, we all share to much to have old divisions stand between us. I don't know why, but, long ago, we went to crow fair, we were treated with anger, like from conflicts from long ago, at the blackfeet powwow too, yes we fought each other for land and living space, but it shouldn't be what keeps us apart today, I hope this anger is gone now, and my young generations can attend a crow fair, and a blackfeet powwow today.
  • I grew up just outside of the Blackfeet reservation, and love seeing there culture be appreciated.

I'm Blackfoot on my father's side. I was adopted, so I never really had the chance to explore my culture growing up, so I always felt like a part of me was missing. I recently got connected with my biological family and I finally feel complete. I am so excited to learn more about my people, my family and our traditions.
  • As an African American I admire Native American Culture and how Native Americans preserve it. Holding onto what our ancestors teachings and traditions are so important. Native America keep on shining cause you're beautiful honorable and Great in all that you do!
  • I am African but what l can say respect yourself your culture and never let go off it like Zuloes of South Africa . Its what you are and no civilization is better than what is initiated by you in your own culture. However respect others too but dot let them impose on your cultures

  • Earl Old Person was a dear friend of mine and I know he is smiling upon all those striving to keep the Blackfoot traditions alive. God bless you all!
  • Stationed at Malmstrom, AFB, Great Falls, Montana. Loved seeing the Blackfeet tribe do so well. The reservation outside Great Falls stinks. Looks like an abandoned trailer park. The Blackfeet reservation had casinos and most drove new vehicles. It made me realize that sometimes things do work out. Enlightening because my expeMm
  • It's so beautiful, the culture, the love of the earth, the community and the dance. What a blessing to be surrounded by such love. It feels like I was there once, it makes my heart cry for my loss somehow. The sounds and music wash through my heart as if I want to go home.
  • My great grandmother was part Blackfoot. I spent a week driving through Idaho and Montana and felt a connection to Blackfoot country. I'm not sure if that is genetic memory or just connecting to our inner god when surrounded by such beauty but I plan on making another trip

I love this 😊 the sounds of the music takes me back to going to powwows when i was a kid. My grandma said we are part Blackfoot 🧡
  • I’m 36 & when I almost was hitting 30 I found out about my great grandma being adopted. Now… something wasn’t right about it. I found 3 different birth years for her & the years were around the timing of those “boarding schools” I’m pretty sure that’s were she came from. Slowly finding things out.. they say she was left in a woven basket on a church step as a newborn.. I don’t believe it for a second because they said “church”.. natives didn’t go to church! & I don’t know about you but I highly doubt they would put her on a “white church step” thank you for this video. I started crying watching it. I want to learn more.. I want to visit. Just take it all in.. I would love to talk to the elders.. mannn.. it’s a dream of mine to find my family

I am a Khasi tribal from the north east corner of India and very proud of my culture and traditions. We are some of the few who still profess our traditional faith and the Khasi way of life. It is heart warming to see similar traditional music and dance around the world and especially people who are proud of their roots. God bless you.. KHUBLEI

My family on my moms side descended from the Blackfoot Native Americans and I think it is so amazing and beautiful. And now knowing that I can see videos like this one of the Blackfoot tribes on YouTube are amazing. It is very hard for me to find any information on this tribe anywhere near me at all. Thank you for sharing this video!
