The new version of Pantheon Nezarec Sublime is exactly what I've wanted from a Destiny activity in such a long time. Serious difficulty, fun mechanics and lengthy encounters with a heavy emphasis on survivability and dynamic team composition. -20 Pantheon is all this and more and serves as an excellent way for new teams to practice for the upcoming day one and my goodness is it difficult, which is why in today's video I'm going to try and explain what my team did to beat it as best as I can. The two new bosses added this week are Riven and Nezarec, and for Riven the encounter is mostly the same and thankfully there are no Tormentors here but the biggest change is that the joining-allies is patched and you cannot cheese her since she has massive damage resistance on the first two floors of damage, which I think is an excellent change. Nezarec though, the changes are good but overall the encounter is so poorly designed and it shows even more in this version, but there are ways you can make it more bearable. Anyway, please enjoy the breakdown and good luck with your clears!

"Nearly impossible to mess up Whisper damage" The one thrall left alive during DPS whose only mission is "GET DOWN MR. PRESIDENT!!!": 👁️ 👄 👁️

I think unironically the hardest part of the Nezarec Sublime run is getting Platinum Explicator. Everything else is pretty free if you survive, given the amazing surges this week.

Community: give us more content! Something challenging Bungo: time to seperate the wheat from the chaff. . . And brainless.

Already got it through 10 hours with LFG’s but such a fun raid/mode! Still watching because love your information!! Thanks for all content!!
  • I forced my raid team to practice riven legit on Monday and they were adamant it wouldn’t matter. I felt so validated by Bungie making us do it

Flew through it 3ish hours with 5 hunters and a Warlock. Super fun. I hope they do more of this in the future!
  • It is incredible seeing how few people actually have a 2nd runner/buff buddy to make a refuge when it is the most risk free thing you can do and in this instance helps big even more so. I saw way too many people struggling with that and still forgoing the 2nd buff guy.
  • prob worth mentioning that snipers deal 50% less damage to riven by default
  • @Abiaxas
This was seriously the best event Naz was a pain, however it was really great fun and I’m glad that my team and I got Godslayer

Something I learned last night on captain planets (explicator) - you don't have to kill the tormentor in order to get platinum score. It despawns about 2 seconds after someone steps into one of the plates for damage. We ended up just giving it a wide berth until damage was ready to start, focusing on other adds.

Congrats on getting Godslayer Llama! You definitely deserve it😁😁 Tried with a couple friends and lfg people and unfortunately we couldn't get past planets.. Hopefully my attempt today yields more positive results and progress 😅😅

Spent 8 hours with a single lfg group and got all the way to nezerac without any issues before getting stuck on nez for the last 2 hours before getting off. but to platinum 7 encounters in 6 hours Aint half bad especially considering it was the entire team’s first time doing riven legit and we were all excited for it and outburstly happy when we beat riven.

Spent four hours on Riven. First hour was just learning. Then it was figuring out that my partner in reading didn’t realize you have to press grenade (he had been pressing super) then from there we were too focused on our eyes up top and didn’t do enough damage. Between all of that the minotaurs kept screwing us up. Until eventually we killed her, got plat, and went to sleep because it was 2 in the morning

Good thing to note is that explosive light is much better than bait and switch on rockets for caretaker and planets. You can only get 2-3 rockets out per plate anyways, so buffing each of those by 25% with explosive light is much more beneficial than trying to proc bait and switch (using one of your rockets with a 0% buff) for a buff that's only 5% higher than explosive light. Not to mention how much simpler explosive light is to proc. Anything to reduce complexity of damage phases will help most teams.

I would say contest mode is still harder since there’s no extra modifiers like shot caller, classy, or surges to help. This took me 6 hours with LFG despite having no day 1s but we missed the 500k atraks 😭
  • @Narfwak
Doing add clear with Sunshot also means you have Shot Caller up pretty much all the time - and Shot Caller gives a pretty hefty amount of damage reduction. I swear incoming damage during mechanics on Macrocosm felt lower this week than it did last week despite the power delta being higher. That and the solar surge also make it insane for Nez add clear (especially because Cabal are so fat that their explosion radius is enormous) and in general I felt like surviving -20 Pantheon Nez was dramatically easier than surviving day one contest Nez for the add clear and runners alike in spite of the new enemies. I did the buff buddy/add clear in our clear and found Mountaintop to be absolutely amazing. You can easily laterally MT jump across the middle at the start to close the distance and get to your side with enough time to kill everything and then hit the big boy with a x10 Recombination shot after breaking his shield with a solar melee to debuff him. Anyone that's done TF2 rocket jumping should be able to do it as easily as breathing, and it's a super super fun way to do an encounter where both aspects of MT as a movement tool and burst damage tool get used for the same job.

Tip to anyone struggling to get Rhulk stuck in the back; This was my job and at some occasions, even with melee resistance and 100 Resilience, he'd still one shot me. I suggest whoever is going Div be the one getting him stuck, throw on a legendary sword, and block his kick. You can bring him as far back as you want so long as you're not overzealous and get whacked off the edge. Once you feel he's as far back as possible, then run to the wall and STAY STILL. Since then, I've never had him NOT get stuck. Plus, having all that free space allows your line of sight with Div to be picture-clear. Happy runs everyone!
