My wife and I honestly thought about not posting this week because of the situation in Ukraine. For those that don't know my wife is Ukrainian, her family is still there, I lived in Ukraine for 4 years, and we both have friends on the ground in the country. We made a video last week talking about the situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARXdHB4ZprM&t=8s This channel is our full-time job and our source of income. And we don't want to change over to a channel focusing on politics. We could spend every Sunday posting videos about political strife and suffering since the world has never had a shortage of it. Some people have said why didn't you post about what happened in Kazakhstan, Iran, Haiti and the list goes on and on. The simple reason is Ukraine hits very close to home for us so that's why we jumped out of our usual format to post a video about it. The reason why I started this channel was to show a world distant from the political angles the mainstream media shows us. To show a world that excites us and makes us want to venture into it. A view into cultures or ways of living that perhaps you're not familiar with but can learn something from. And this is what we will continue to do. But there will be times in the future when we might drop occasional content about Ukraine if we feel we can give you a look in that others aren't showing, but for the most part Sunday videos will continue as usual. We've been somewhat paralyzed since the war started, especially my wife. I can't imagine how hard it is for her knowing her parents are living in a country currently under heavy invasion. Some of you have asked how you can help in Ukraine and this is the best organization and way to send money that we've found so far: novaukraine.org/?fbclid=IwAR3CdNRb0ryyi2mcAN0w6Fwh… If we find a better way we will update this. To the Ukrainians... the world admires you for your strength and courage. We are humbled by your resilience. You will be victorious, and peace will come to your country again. For the next 7 weeks content will be from our latest trip to CA. So everything you will see for the near future has already been filmed. Thank you for caring and for being part of this journey! Peter & Natalia

  • @ngonz89
I went to Japan in 2019 and I legit saw a Japanese guy with a low rider and a Mexican flag. My jaw dropped lol
  • This is very cool to see. I am covered in Japanese traditional tattoos and am a Chicano. Never thought I’d see the day where the Japanese want to adopt our culture into their lives. You are valid homie 🫡
  • @Jozay562
I love these Japanese folks… Love how they showing love for our people, our culture, & our area. Big props for coming out all the way from Japan to be part of the cultura! RESPECTO ✊
  • @NawayTaryea
As a black dude, I 100% agree that Mexican Especially older folks, know how to love people no matter who they are or where they're from. As long as you are respectful towards them, they will treat you like one of their own
  • I’m Asian and most of my friends growing up were Mexican. They and their families took me in like their own kid.
  • @ARSERR
Most people aspire to be Lawyers, doctors, cops. My boy just wanted to be Chicano ❤
  • @NG35129
This is what it's about loving each other respecting each other's culture. We're all human at the end of the day.♥️

One of the biggest things I learned when I was studying in California was family love. He was my roommate and Mexican-American. He treated me as his family and let me spend time with her family which I could barely experience here in Japan. Since then, I started facing and communicating with my family in Japan. I had used to avoid communicating with them because I had thought it was worthless. But after I met with my roommate, I changed and learned how to love my family. Unfortunately, he passed away due to the corona, but I never stop appreciating him for what he has given to me. This video reminds me of the family love Mexican-Americans embrace.

I've heard of Japanese people embracing the Chicano culture but man. This dude is dedicated and I have nothing but mad respect for him and your videos. Japanese people and their culture are amazing in itself

  • @Cloud75770
My admiration to you getting a wife from Ukraine. I am first gen Bulgarian American and my woman is from Brooklynn NYC. We reside in Arizona, but we also travel to Bulgaria when we can. I am in Bulgaria now for the holidays, and my old country also sends munitions and other heavy artillery to Ukraine. We support Ukraine, as if it fails Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria are next on Vlad's map of conquest. I work with Latino cultura in Phoenix for almost 2 decades now, so it is nice to see this video.
  • @billyfox7089
All of the comments I scrolled through are so full of love. With all the talk of cultural appropriation these days (which at its most egregious is an acknowledged problem), it's so nice to see folks admiring cultural appreciation. Let's learn from each other, love one another.
  • @badassmillz_
"Made in Japan, that's riiight!" Lol the Japanese accent mixed with the LA Chicano accent is a trip !!!
