As a person who grew up in the South I wish these tips were more commonly used. You're never too old to say "sir" or "ma'am". How a person treats a stranger tells you who they truly are.

I am a British offer cadet who has just finished training. We learn how to be gentlemen in all aspects from negotiations on the battlefield, or parley. To hosting a banquet and in general life. I think all men should learn the quality's of being a gentleman as there would be far less violence, racism and all the other evils in the world.

Also, a gentleman speaks quietly. He does not shout irritatingly.
