As a former member of the Foreign Legion I have no problem with this dude selling his stories, even deserters have a tale to tell. He can badmouth, belittle and degrade the Legion if he so desires and I still have no problem because he is a deserter, a man who has shown himself to be without honor; a man who cannot be taken at his word. What I DO have a problem with is this dude's reason for his desertion. I heard him say that his youtube videos were saving lives and that the Legion interfered with him doing God's work of saving lives. That's a new reason for desertion.....I did it to do God's work. So, let God work with him on that, but I am shocked at how accepting his fan base is concerning his lack of honor and commitment to his word. If they want to idolize a USNavy SEAL, I would recommend Drago, a man of honor. LPN
  • Thank god, another Navy Seal goes on social media and creates a life coaching style business. This is so different and exclusive! Cmon dude, can we not be silent professionals anymore?
  • @gri7
I want to hear round 2 and just nothing but French Foreign Legion stories
  • @chartreux1532
I'm glad to see an American who went into the Foreign Legion talk in detail about it. Most of the Time it's Germans, French (of course), Poles, Hungarians, Russians etc. who write Books or in detail talk about it. Especially interesting in this Case because he was a Navy Seal before that, so interesting to hear his Comparisons and Differences. • Sean, excellent podcast. This interview with Taylor is gold. More folks need to hear this kind of talk, especially in the Veteran community. I’m a Navy Veteran and am very happy to see guys like Taylor and yourself on the right path. We’re all in the same fight. Keep up the good work brother!

As a guy with TS clearance, hearing "all my court cases" is pretty freaking mind blowing. Love his story but man oh man.
  • @dennisaston3551
Its great seeing him taking responsibility for his actions.

Delighted to see my comrade interviewed here, the Americans I knew, their accent is incredible haha, I had an American team leader who was a former Seals, I would say the South African and American warrior mentalities, but in this as he tells it I have the impression when we return to the legion we are living the same story it's crazy, Thank you comrade for this testimony LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA!🟢🔴 from France 🤙 🔵⚪🔴

53:18 My dad should have told my grandma. Because now I hear the story every years "When he joined the legion for 6 month I didn't know if alive or dead". She's never getting over it.

I think Taylor Cavanaugh is one of the most interesting Persons that has been online of late. My only problem with the story is how he left the Legion. He deserted the Legion with almost 8 months of service left. So he is kicked out of the U.S. Navy, Eventually joins the legion and finds what he needs for the time. The Legion helped save him and doesn't get kicked out, but chooses to desert. I understand what it was over, as I listened to one of the other Podcasts where Taylor explained why he went AWOL from the Legion. Had he gotten out of the Legion honorably his story would be absolutely incredible. What the story says now is Taylor found trouble in both of his military services to the U.S. and France.

  • @PatrickDize
Looking forward to round Two! Great episode.
  • @Rowsey63
He’s learned a lot about himself and accomplished things I couldn’t imagine. He’s got a deep down drive all while being self-destructive in the past. He’s found out his mistakes and learned from them. A lot of people can relate to his past behavior and learn from him. I’m glad he’s sharing his life story.
  • @RichardPCraft
great show...I've seen his story multiple times over multiple mediums so super impactful. Having said that I had heard the story, I really enjoyed this episode b/c it highlighted a few different things I have yet to hear based on questions but also the questions you asked in return off something he said...that exchange/conversation was great info
  • @315NY
This was so raw and real. I totally agree with you that other "professionals" who try to talk about hard issues like this don't quite get it right because they have never experienced it. Great episode, keep up the great work.
