Bob Ross was doing ASMR before anyone knew what ASMR was. He was a legend in his own time

I used to come home from school and turn on PBS to watch Bob and fall asleep. This was long before the ASMR craze and I certainly didn’t have a name for the hypnotic coma I fell in to when I watched him paint. I found myself falling under the same spell when I was in grade school and our teachers would write on the chalkboard (YES, chalkboard 😆) or I’d hear the sound of pencil-writing (which was most of the time!).
  • ,, Maybe some crimson red, What the heck." This guy is so chill and i love him

"You need the dark in order for the light to show" -Bob Ross

FINALLY, I actually don't like brushing sounds but love the tapping when mixing the paint.

i nearly cried when he said “painting offers you freedom,… it’s the only place I have power”
  • @HeliozASMR
The most incredible part is the simplicity of his style. Of course complex techniques can generate detailed paintings. On the other hand his paintings are amazingly detailed using simple and easy to understand techniques.

I wouldn’t be able to sleep and I would switch channels and around 11/12 am i would see this his voice and the noises of the brushes would make me fall asleep it was the best

Best part of my day is getting home from work and unwinding with these videos. So much peace and positivity and it even extends to the comments, a rarity for YouTube.
