13:13 I met him 19y ago when I was 19. he was 26. I thought he was so smart, cool and thoughtful. my background for latter childhood was overprotective to the max. former, destitute. he fulfilled a purpose(in my mind, at the time), but it was by his design once he learned about my past. at this point, now, I realize he couldn't let go because he needs control to make himself feel good. he has constantly lied and told half truths so people will see him in a good light. honestly, he doesn't even know himself. he's a facade. what's wild is he still attacks me verbally. I've cut off every avenue. for a long time I couldn't as we have a 17yo. now that our child is older and I've also had a chance to mature.. I can see how he "trapped me" and used her the whole time as well. truly despicable. but to round it out, people can't let go because they base their own worthiness on their so called "accomplishments". he even gives our child grief. useless if doesn't get a degree in so and so. I'm not knocking education! however, he wants our child to do so because of how it will reflect on him. in day to day life he does nothing to show love nor support towards her. she actually works at the place he manages. she is quitting soon. she says mom, it's too much that he's not only my dad but my manager too. I've learned to let go of my rage I feel toward him, for the most part. I struggle with compassion, although at times it can be quire easy to transmute, but honestly, it's been a wildly peaceful place to find myself, when I do. I will probably always, at times, feel sorry for him. I refuse to let him back in to "help him." those are just words to manipulate and further gaslight. I know those are words too frequently and brazenly used... but in this case, it is most assuredly true. peace to all.
