PV-TV - Episode 3 - The Greatest Story Ever Written

Published 2024-04-13
This isn't just another episode of PV-TV, this is the greatest story ever written!

Comprised of chunks from:

The Big Idea
(An early MGM short featuring Ted Healy and the Three Stooges. Generally they played bigger roles in these shorts but their roles were so insubstantial in this one that they didn't even make the episode. Victims of circumstance.)

Shake Hands With Danger

Bonanza episode "The Abduction"
(I'd never actually seen this legendary show until checking it out for footage. It was very enjoyable. There was a semi-awkward scene in which Little Joe meets a bearded lady. Despite the show being made in the 1960s and set in the 1860s, I was pleasantly surprised when he was polite to her even though he was confused about her gender.)

The Wacky Wabbit

How to be Well Groomed
(Though not featured in the episode this film offers timeless advice: red nail polish will attract attention to stubby fingers.)

You Bet Your Life
(A leftover clip from the previous PV-TV episode. The format of Groucho Marx interviewing regular folks was genius and still worth checking out today.)

Plus a drive-in intermission clip

Hey that Ted Heel, wasn’t he the first one to have stogies?
