I was 9 when I watched this game live on a small black and white TV at my grandparents'. Almost 50 now but this one will stay with me for the rest of my days.

What a great game. It really had it all. I still remember being a 9 year old little boy and it was the first game I really consciously watched on TV. That's when I sat in front of the TV with my mouth open and couldn't believe how amazing Littbarski was. Scored a goal, more or less prepared two goals, took a penalty and comforted Uli Stieleke when he missed. From then on I was a Littbarski and Cologne fan. And it's incredible that I met him in person last year and was able to tell him that this game changed my life. It was unbelievable how nice and friendly he reacted and was almost ashamed.

I was 7 years old🇩🇪, and this was my first ever seen football match on a camping area, 30 people watching it on a small tv. During this game, I felt in love with this beautiful game and it will never stop touching my heart.

When I was a kid my hero and my favorite football player was Platini, an absolutely fantastic player.

What a match. 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 What mix of skill, flair, intensity ,and willpower. Neither side willing to concede an inch - but having to concede and adapt constantly. In a match like this both sides deserve to go through, but France vs Italy would have been a great final. The goalkeepers look like twins separated at birth.

It was the most dramatic game I have seen in my life!

I'm russian and support Germany . It was the great game in WC history. We were losing 1-3, and I thought that everything was already decided. I no longer believed in the German spirit. But this game was a model of that German spirit! The model! I did't sleep all night then, and I was proud of this victory.
