From the Hallmark Heritage Society a narrated copy of the film made in 1907 by William Harbeck as he visited Victoria B.C. A reflection of the city's heritage and history. Harbeck stood on the front of a streetcar as it traveled through the city.

As a person who is from Victoria, i really liked this video. Thank you.
  • Everyone makes the mistake of saying ‘the parliament buildings’. The parliament buildings are federal and in Ottawa. This site is the British Columbia Legislative Assembly or just the legislature.

A few years ago the lane of Government St. closest to the lawns of the Legislative Assembly was dug up for a couple hundred feet. The street car rails and ties are still in place, just buried by pavement.

Most buildings on lower Johnson Street were designed by the same architects of old town Sacramento, California reflecting the expansion of the "Gold Rush" northward.

Excellent work, thank you. Maybe ironically, as of late, the Hallmark corporation has made quite an extensive use of the town of Victoria for their Hallmark brand movies. Coincidence Hallmark Heritage Society? or how far does this rabbit hole go?! Thanks for sharing none the less

Fair warning to tourists that are thinking of visiting Victoria the locals here are probably the biggest snobs in Canada.
