Are you experiencing workplace stress? While some workplace stress is normal, too much of it can be harmful to your mind and body. Your boss might be acting unreasonable or your coworkers may be difficult to deal with. Perhaps you are underpaid, underappreciated. Or maybe deadlines, long commutes, and extended working hours are taking their toll on you.

It is important to manage the stress in your life and to take action to reduce it as much as possible. Doing so will help you improve your physical and mental health, and it will give you the energy to continue moving forward in your day-to-day life.

Try reducing stress with the following methods:

-Talking about your problems with someone close to you. Often times, just verbalizing your thoughts can help reduce your stress, provide mental clarity, and improve your mood.

-Keeping a journal. Writing is an effective form of thought articulation and self therapy. It will help you put your thoughts in order and clarify your feelings and the reasons behind them.

-Exercising regularly. You can implement or a more rigorous exercise schedule or just go out for a simple, daily walk. Keeping your body healthy and active will, in turn, keep your mind healthy as well.

-Eating less junk food and more healthy food. Having a proper, nutritious diet can reduce your blood pressure, stablize your mood, strengthen your immune system, and regular your moods more effectively.

During stressful times at work, I often put on relaxing rain sounds to relax and feel calm. It is also a good source of white noise to block out any distractions and extraneous sounds so that I can concentrate on my work and get tasks done more efficiently.

I also use it at night when my mind is racing and thoughts are preventing myself from falling asleep. Listening to rain sounds always helps calm my mind down, ease any feelings of stress and anxiety, and then fall fast asleep.

Give it a try!
