There's much more to explore of course and there's way too many topics to go over for this type of video so if you're already familiar with Overwatch, let me know what other tips you have for beginning players.

Sorry for the fact that there's less editing, I put in all this video's time project in writing. Next video will have more editing!

what an amazing insight and a well made video. Just hit top 500 last week for the first time (top 75 no less) and I just wish I could go back to starting the game from scratch again like I did 7 years ago

intense overwatch gameplay over stardew valley music is wild
  • I started OW2 end of S1, pretty much a similar story to yours. I spend 99% of my time in QP, but I'm gold the few times I play ranked. I remember being overwhelmed by simple things, like I don't think I knew what zen's discord was for like the first 100 hours. Most rpg's I'd play Tank, but I got attached to Torb for the first fifty hours before picking up Lucio and becoming a support main. Now I can play most characters in the entire roster fairly comfortably, (even if im not good at say, genji, got the jist) it's wild how much information I had to learn I take for granted now. This game, for all its faults, has something about it that's just so satisfying to play. Most of my mates who got me into it are getting burned out by it now, which is fair enough, but I can't imagine putting it down anytime soon. Wishing you the best on your ranked journey! :)

As an old player I have to say this game still has some of its addictive qualities from overwatch 1 despite all these unnecessary changes that made people upset in the first place these new heroes are so much fun and I’ve found myself getting flashbacks to how much fun it was back when I’d group up with friends
  • Good video. I've been playing overwatch 1 since season 2( 2016) and peaked at GM. More than mechanical skill, overwatch rewards game sense and positioning. This you learn with time. Glad to see new players having fun with the game.

The background music got too loud later in the video, especially at around 10:30 mark. Apart from that it was a nice video good sir.
  • Very well spoken, perfect description and examples. Most overwatch creators simply say something like, "Do this if this or that if that" if that makes sense. Your perception really helped me and holy shit the music in background absolute bangers
  • W vid. I'm also new, and all of these experiences I'm going through as well

I love overwatch for many reasons. But one main one being that you HAVE to work as a team, like in games such as fortnite or other team-based games it doesn't really matter if you go off and do your own thing for a bit. But in ow if you're a tank you have to protect your team and claim point, if your dps you have to make sure you're providing enough value and if you're support you neeed to keep everyone alive. Another massive reason is the unbelievable number of variables in the game. Like you don't just pick up a gun and go pew pew. You need positioning, cycling, match-ups, ults and so much more that just keep the game interesting and sets it out from everything else that is on the market nowadays.

One of the big reasons they did 6v6 -> 5v5 because the queues were often >20mins and it just meant that casuals would just not bother playing, especially if they just lost a game waiting another 20 mins meant it didn’t feel worth queuing again, 6v6 was fun especially tank as you had synergy: offtank (e.g Diva or Zarya) and main-tank (e.g Reinhardt or Winston) who could work together to take space easier, but it did not outweigh being able to play about 5 games in 3hours in 6v6 to like 10 in 5v5 with way less downtime.
  • nice to see the prespective to a new player to this game i like it :) i play this game since 2016

Welcome to the club! Hope you will enjoy OW2 until forever!
  • Can tell you smth. Am currently in gm on console and was gm on pc back in ow1 and god my aim sure aint the best lol. I mean its alright but i sure as hell make up for it with experience its pretty cool. Especially when you are playing projectile heroes or tanks knowlesge comes in clutch. I think thats amazing. Not only being a good player through being an aimgod but mostly through big brain thinking and game sense. Hope you will have a further good time with overwatch. To some good matches my lad haha

As I've said before and will say forever, ow is at its peaks when no one understands whats happening. Its like magic, only good when you dont understand the trick, but you cant helpvasking dor an explanation

something a bit more advanced about a d strafing: theres 2 more advanced types called mirroring and anti-mirroring. Mirroring is you trying to match the enemy strafes to make it easier to aim for both you and your opponent, great for characters with tracking weapons with high damage like tracer. You don't wanna mirror all the time, but it makes hard movement much easier to hit when needed. Anti mirroring is the opposite, when the enemy goes left, you go right, making it more difficult to aim for both of you. Great if you're low hp in a duel, playing against a zarya for example since her hitbox is huge, also great if you feel like you need to take a risk to win a gunfight, you can start to anti-mirror and trust your aim

I started playing ow2 a few months ago after having a strong hatred for ow for years and it’s my favorite thing ever, and after 3 seasons I actually got into ranked and I’m gold 3 at the moment after 100 hours on comp😭

It's hard to improve faster than everyone else. If you don't then you don't rank up. Its hard for a new player to catch up with the average player, but it will somehow be even harder to rank up to be above average. Fortunately, there are lots of resources to help you improve and catch up on that knowledge that used to not be available.
