After reading Dave Grohl’s book, it was revealed that this video was actually based off of a dream that he had about seeing many stars turn into ufos and fly around the sky as he heard narration from other beings talking about the “dawn of man”. Interesting to watch the video after learning that bit of info.

Honestly, Dave is one of the most talented musicians of this generation, as well as being a really nice guy.

I love how each member kind of brings there own style to the band, clothing wise, personality wise, music wise. Just an incredible band with so much diversity. RIP Brother, you're in a better place.

What have the artists said about the song? In an interview with Rolling Stone about the song, Grohl had this to say: I wrote the song towards the end of the album process. We thought we had finished the album and we had a two-week break. I thought to myself, “I got one more song in me, I got one more song in me.” I was laying down in the grass, looking up at the night sky in Hawaii, and I was reminded of this Neil DeGrasse Tyson video that I had watched called, “The Most Astounding Fact”. And I’ve always been a sky-watcher since I was a kid. I’ve always just stared at the sky and waited for a sign. And so I wrote the song “The Sky is a Neighborhood” based on that. It basically talks about the atoms that comprise life on Earth and make up the human body are traceable to the beginnings of our universe. Stars that go unstable and collapse and explode and just scatter their guts, their fundamental ingredients of life are all over the universe and forming solar systems and stars orbiting planets have the ingredients for life itself. And when you look up at the night sky, you realize that you’re not only part of the universe, but the universe is part of us. It really moves me. Moves me too Dave, congrats for another great song and for the great content of the Foo's works of art. Getting more and more great each album.

When I got my drum kit, this was one of the first songs I learned. Taylor was my hero. I can’t believe he’s gone. RIP to a true rock god.
