Better watch this entire Datto video on weapon patterns that I already have, just in case
  • @StrafeHunter
If you are watching this now: Regnant is irrelevant, just go get an envious/bait Edge Transit. Semiotician is definitely worth as with its frame, field prep and bipod you can hold 16 rockets without any reserve mods.
  • @zackphy
Until it's Return is the most slept on weapon in the game imo. Overflow/cascade point is amazing and is a legendary 4th Horseman that holds 16 in the mag. Cascade Point is EXTREMLY easy to proc on special weapons as well. Try it out, it's the best pve pellet shotty for non 1 2 punch builds.
  • Just want to put it out there that Until It’s Return, the strand shotgun from Deep, can roll enhanced auto loading cascade point for the kinetic slot - which is fantastic for melting down champions or big enemies if you use a close range build or have strong survivability
  • @JabeRaddle
Don’t forget to grab the old season artifacts so you can get engrams from previous seasons. I often get 2 or 3 different seasonal engrams after completing an activity.
  • @kreia187
Here is a tip for the more experimental build crafters among you: Raconteur is one of only two bows (and the only one in the kinetic slot), that can roll with the combination of Shoot to Loot and Explosive Head. Due to the aoe and delay from explosive head, this will automatically pick up any orbs created from kills with this weapon, making it an excellent pairing with things like reaper, siphon mods, or fragments like echo of harvest or thread of wisdom. This works really well with briarbinds for example, as orbs are very important for that build, and both reaper and echo of harvest put in a lot of work. The delayed explosion also helps with the chog placement being more consistent.
  • Don't forget to use your legendary shards for glimmer to level these weapons up before they go away at the end of the season.

Wanted to leave a thank-you here as a returning player. Been away for 4 years (Feb 2020) so I've been extremely lost in what's available / what's bad what's good in replacing my old gear. Summaries like this are invaluable in a community that's filled to the brim with now-outdated bleeding-edge guides / resources but sorely missing updated counterparts for old-but-present content that the old guides may no longer apply to. So thanks!

Just wanted to mention Abyss Defiant as an honorable mention here. If you use a Solar Melee focused build (of which there are MANY in the game currently), the origin trait on this weapon along with Incandescent makes it a beast for those builds. I've also been using Briar's Contempt very much recently (only cuz I'm tired of using Cataclysmic for everything), and while I tried Surrounded, I didn't really end up liking it due to how niche and potentially dangerous the perk can be to proc. So I instead went with Rewind Rounds and High-Impact Reserves so that I can use it in more general play.
  • @caustic_rage
Thank you - I'm glad I lucked out on a bunch of the 21 and 22 patterns, mostly got 'em all. Working on 23, glad to have some focus.
  • @m05513
Was surprised to see "Quicksilver at home (Rufus's Fury)" wasn't on the list for RoN, that thing is incredible when Im using my exotic slot on a rocket launcher.
  • @oblividude123
Word of Crota is also a very solid choice (on consoles at least) to grind the pattern for. It pairs incredibly well with a Gyrfalcon's Hunter build.
  • @fluidwolf
Honestly I think Abyss Defiant is a pretty fun weapon from the Crota raid. Subsistance and incandescent combos well and with the origin perk if you punch a dude out before you start blasting the thrall explosions also make affected enemies explode burst into fire as well, spreading it even further. Also just feels nice to fire imo. I know people don't really like the archetype but I think it's a useful energy slot auto rifle.
  • @tagman9174
Caretaker and the Titan exclusive sword both can get surrounded. Definitely worth getting imo
  • @koolgamers6763
Imperial decree is def worth getting IMO, it’s the best kinetic legendary shotgun for crucible as of now at least
  • @Green_Sentinel_3
Prodigal Return can roll with disorienting grenade & voltshot. Go for max reload/handling (I opt for reloading mostly) It pulls double duty but requires landing direct hits or manually detonating the grenade midair/after bounce for max effect.
  • @cimirie01
Imperial Decree isn’t “OK” as Datto has stated. It is currently the best non-slug shotgun in PVP currently. Bit of an undersell on that one.

TIPS FOR NEW PLAYERS who need good armor: if you can, focus armor ONLY at the Season of the Deep kiosk. I've done a bit of testing at the various different kiosks, and for some reason, Season of the Deep's armor seems to roll with the highest stat totals and highest stat spikes. The Season of the Wish armor is by far with the worst, with very low stat totals and poor stat distribution. Season of the Witch might be viable too but I don't remember, I usually forget it's even there. Remember to slap an armor mod on your ghost. The stats are distributed into two sections. If you have a spike in the top three stats (mob, res, rec) then the second largest spike will be in the bottom three (dis, int, str). Resilience is always your number one priority followed by discipline, and mobility ONLY if you're a hunter. Strength can be good for titans, if your build focuses heavily on melee. If you put on an armor mod for, let's say resilience, it will guarantee a high spike in res and then you have a 1/3 shot of getting another spike in discipline. Armor mods have NO EFFECT on random armor drops, or opening random engrams at Rahool. The only time it works at Rahool is if you're focusing specific exotic armor, which is pretty costly. Oh and if you need exotic armor, DO NOT bother with legend lost sectors if you struggle with them. You're better off just running the Vex Incursion Zone public event on Neomuna. The Asher Mir twitter bot sends out 5 minute alerts when it's up, and they have a discord bot that can alert you as well. The event typically pops up every 4 to 5 hours.
  • @oxsila
Yeah like many people are saying Until Its Return is slept on. A must have for boss dps situations where you're using acrius and need another shotty to go alongside it.
