A correction: The Volk wanzer design was done by Takayuki Yanase, not Yoji Shinkawa. Yanase did some really cool work on Ghost in the Shell: Arise and Xenoblade Chronicles X!

Hello old friend, Left Alive seems pretty fun; having a lady held at gunpoint by two soldiers and then you have like 5 seconds to kill them would be utterly trivial in any other game but in this one not so much; actually kind of random how e.g. throwing a frag at them will work out because of how ridiculous the AI is. Apart from that as an FM fan its neat going around fairly huge levels which would be roughly the size of a Front Mission Mission; the FM3's pilot's perspective if you will. It also emphasizes attacking enemies when they reload and also the sheer realism of having to shoot a guy in the face 5 times before he dies. Note: I did wait till it was 10 bucks to buy it but I'm having a very good time with it so far, only stealth game in recent memory that didn't make you feel comically overpowered.

Personally I think given the fact that the game is set in Eastern Europe it might actually be based around the recent war between Ukraine and Russia

From the previous content, the older man seems to be an abandoned pilot. He climbs out of a broken down wanzer and is refused assistance or sth iirc..
